@TheJim91919 ай бұрын
Whenever you go somewhere that people don't see your race at all, the reaction is similar. It's really innocent, accidental "racism" that you can't ever be mad at. I (a white guy) was working with an NGO in rural Ghana. In Accra and Cape Coast you see the occasional white person, but I was in Volta region which is really rural and isolated. Didn't see a single other white person that wasn't with our group in the two months I was there. The kids found it HILARIOUS that we had so much body hair relative to them and called us "monkeys" the whole time we were there and everyone we met shouted "Ame yevu!" (white person inn Ewe) at us. Our local liaison guys taught us to shout back "Ame yibo!" (black person) and without exception they all thought that was the most hysterically funny thing they had ever heard.

I felt like a celebrity in 2013 when I was in China- Beijing Xian & Shanghai. Black and 5’10, they thought I was a model. They would touch my hair and fawn over me like I was a doll lol😅 on many occasions they asked my tour guide if they could take a photo of me. It was a really unique experience and very cute was their curiosity of me.
@ammroyal60499 ай бұрын
That's what I always say tho. They're just curious, they don't see a lot of black people but people out of Asia keep repeating dogmas and saying they are racists.
@benetnasch_alkaid9 ай бұрын
That's true. I live in Aguascalientes, Mexico. You can find mixed (Mestizo), white, Asian, but it's rare to find black people. I do try to avoid looking at them when they don't notice, so they don't feel uncomfortable because I know what it feels like. Back in middle school/high school, I lived in the USA for almost 4 years. In the town I lived, the majority were white, followed by black and Asian. The only Latinos were my brother and sister. The other two from Puerto Rico couldn't speak Spanish and were like 4th generation, so it was basically just the three of us. It was kind of weird at the beginning because of the stares, but I got used to it since I didn't feel discriminated at all. This was during 1998-2001 in Monroe County (Rochester, NY), more specifically in the town of Pittsford, NY. In conclusion I felt special when I landed there cuz I was like the "unique" one in middle/high school. xD

I've been to China 2 times in my life, latest being 2005, and I have to tell you as a black American, they are some of the greatest people in the world. Like most countries, it's not the people that are bad, its the government. China is a repressive regime, not allowing it's citizens access to information outside China by using the "Great Firewall". If you even bring up Tineman Square, a moment in history, it's a crime. Not saying the U.S. is any better in certain aspects, just pointing out some facts...

Mike, how popular are you on the social media platforms and newspapers in China? After all, you are someone that the Chinese are not used to encountering on an everyday basis!! So I’m sure that your popularity has skyrocketed in the area where you reside in and the surrounding areas. Also, how are your Mom and fiancé doing these days? I ride motorcycles Mike, would you ever consider getting one in China?!? The new Chinese Motorcycles that are being manufactured there are really starting to cause a stir in the USA market due to how the quality has improved over the years! 🙏🏾👍🏾✌🏾

Hey buddy always good to hear from you. My fiancé and mom are all good, thanks for caring. By the way I also got a motorcycle here but I still can’t get used to it. The driving system here is terrible I think and I almost dare not to take the street with high speed motorcycle 🏍️ Here the streets are always crowded with every possibility of elderly crossing even when the pedestrian lights are red. Let’s say I’ll rather enjoy your ride when next I visit the United States 😀

@@mikeraynaldo3454 Mike, It would be an honor to have you ride along with me on these scenic country roads where there’s really no traffic to worry about my friend! All you have to do is say when, you guys are always welcomed!! 🙏🏾 ✌🏾❤️👍🏾

May The Good Lord Love and Bless You All. Excellent video! What most people don't realize is that in ancient China, there were many dark skinned Chinese. A lot of the stage actors wore white makeup to cover up their "beautiful" dark features. Centuries later, it was much harder to find dark skinned Chinese people because being lighter skinned was the accepted norm.😮 There were also dark skinned Japanese, and Korean brothers and sisters. But once again lighter skinned complexions overshadowed darker skin..There is a video about this here on KZbin. Know your history, and be informed. Keep Your Faith In Jesus Christ Burning Brightly Children. Amen.
