@Mista8088 ай бұрын
They want to increase their chances to get away with scripting a little more and blurring the lines of tackles makes it even easier. First it was the Brady rule, then it was the late hits to quarterbacks.. (but only SOME quarterbacks!) Then it was the major change on what signifies and actual catch. These days depending on the WR, they may have to catch the ball, call home and check in on their wives, take atleast 7 steps towards the opposing teams endzone, and phone a friend for it to be considered an actual catch. Now this. All of these changes allow the NFL to continue scripting games while mob bosses and anyone in the know continues to place bets via sites like *draft kings* and make millions of dollars off knowing what team is scripted to win. The good news is, at least people are finally waking up to the idea of the league being scripted. I already know several people that have completely walked away from watching the NFL anymore. I still watch but I don't put the energy or emotion into the results the way I used to do back in the day before I started waking up to the league being scripted around 2010.

They say they want scoring to be higher but to me trying to influence that in any way other than how it plays out naturally is wrong. If you are worried about getting injured, DONT PLAY FOOTBALL. I think a fine is more appropriate than a penalty. I think the NFL just assumes that people will continue to watch and support them. I love football and I’m more of a defensive guy but I can’t stand the continual gutting of the defense’s ability to play effectively. It has to stop or the game will be ruined.

The thing about these kinds of changes is that they are effectively removing most of the things that helped the game reach the level it is at today. The league is what it is today and generates so much money because of what the game was, not what it has become. So if you're gonna change the game from what is essentially the reason people are willing to drop so much bank, then they need to start lowering the prices and charge for what is being produced today. It's sort of Football. It's kinda like remember the manly actors of yesteryear and how badass they looked in a 3 piece suit on the red carpet? And now "real men" in Hollywood wear dresses, skirts, and purses on the red carpet and weigh 120 lbs soaking wet. It's just not the same

I am all for trying to protect players and the league being successful however I worry that an already inconsistent part of the game is now being put in an even more precarious position. Refs are in a bad position, defenses are getting a hand tied behind their back with all of these rules being pushed against them to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Dont get me wrong im sure the NFL will do great in Sao Paulo this year, if the refs can perform admirably with this shift in tackling rules. We'll just forgive them any missteps and everyone getting to experience the NFL in person for the first time will definitely walk away thinking this is a great sport. OR they will think like a large percentage of current NFL fans do over regulation is negatively affecting the game. Because now its not only was that a catch or not, roughing the passer or not, pass interference or not, was that a legal hit or not; its also now was that a legal tackle or not. Also ignore that OPI is a no call around 95% of the times its committed because "hand fighting". Personally i would like us to just take a moment to remind ourselves football is an inherently dangerous and potentially life altering career choice. Many guys that never made a dime off playing football still habe those injuries for life. Not downing play that. However if you would rather not get hurt and want a lot of guaranteed money might i suggest baseball, or soccer.
