I've meet this guy and I can't speak how strong his faith is in God, but he was at the stronger men's conference this year. Hearing this gives me a little more perspective on his speech now over reading it and seeing a small clip. So for that Mike I appreciate you. But in the end I do agree with what Mike said where if that was what him and his wife agreed to make them the beat people they can be in their marriage then so be it. And I agree that many women have started one path liking then getting bored or wanting more and change it up. Do what works best for you and as he said as long as it glorifies God in way he'll be happy then do it.

There was a steady decline from 1967 where 49% were stay at home moms to 1999 where it fell to 23%. So gen x had fewer stay at home parents compared to their previous generation, millennials fewer than the gen x, and gen z has the fewest stay at home moms of them all. That combined with the rapid growth of technology and the raising your kids via iPad method leads to the mess we have today.

The problem people have is they full heartedly believe anything posted anywhere on the internet is directed too everyone. Just like Mike said “this was directed at his demographic and his school. Which is a catholic school” not quote for quote but regardless. These are the ideals of his demographic, at least the majority of it. Not a single part of his speech insinuated that any woman should fill this roll of a homemaker. The essence of it was how much he loves his wife for making a home in which his family could thrive and that more people might benefit from a similar dynamic. It isn’t for everyone but this speech also isn’t for everyone. It just happened to go viral. I feel bad for Butker even if I don’t share his ideals necessarily. Sharing what works for your family, just because it was on a public platform, doesn’t equate to shoving your ideals down everyone’s throat and saying “this is what you should do ladies” Anyways that’s my two cents.

That’s a crazy cover up story. Way more interesting than some kicker from the chiefs stating his beliefs. Why we always so worried about the wrong things!! I’m not saying that I don’t care about what he said I think it’s amazing that he stands up for his beliefs and faith. We need more of “ be unapologetic about who you are and what you believe in” it’s called being unique and loving yourself and your beliefs. I salute him for that. I just don’t understand how more people aren’t looking into this Pat story because if it’s true then it’s absolutely insane and unacceptable.

In the context of his speech, his statement makes complete sense. Speaking specifically to a group of individuals at a catholic college, he begins his speech talking about what he see’s as problems in the world. He then points out that these problems (by his definition) are due to bad leadership. Calling out catholic leadership, he progresses to the family unit. Raising women above men, he then claims that they can make a big impact as a mother. Whether you may agree or not, he’s not only proposing a solution to what he views are problems, he elevates women above men and their impact in society.

I think everyone is taking this way out of context. This is a grad speech for a catholic school talking to what are probably mostly Catholics. He’s talking to his community and holding his community to what they should be doing. Everyone wants to be a victim and make things personal. He wasn’t talking to the world he was talking to his kind of people. The world should consider listening though… he wasn’t saying anything bad
