I got a bit lost when you mentioned something to do with an overiding, thermal activating, cumdorium trip out switch which may need some tweaking with a flange increase on the lower end of the EQ scale! In other words, a bit technical for me but still a good vid. Thanks

Mike, I'm fascinated by your vids. Just tuned into them today. Question: instead of de-essers have you experimented with volume automation on the sibilant points? De-essers seem like a good quick fix, but what about volume automation on the nasty bits? Thank you kindly.

Oddly enough, volume automation is anything but automatic as you have to manually draw the automation for your DAW to follow. It's very possible, but i doubt it's a better alternative in this regard.

yeah, i know you have to manually draw. well. i reckon both approaches, or a mix of both work to.....you know what...use either approach, or whatever approach to get the sound you hear in your head. the manual approach takes longer time, but it might be the right way. but, then a de-esser seems super handy. i think i might need one.

I dont know if using Audition as a DAW is the appropiate way to go. Personally, I see Audition as an editor but it cant do what a proper DAW do, even the freebies are more powerful than Audition.

I use Audition every day. Many podcasters use Audition and those in radio will either use Audition or ProTools as the industry standards.

@@MikeRussell Exactly, in Radio Pro Tools is still the most used DAW and many still use the full Adobe suite, incluiding Audition, however in other areas where Audio is involved, such as music, film, scoring, etc. Other DAWs are used instead of Audition, even Pro Tools is getting outselled by Ableton, Fl Studio and Logic & Reason.
