Thank you very much Mike. I’m a 61 year old man and don’t even own a large boat. Most of my Striper fishing will be on the beach or small fresh water lakes from a Jon boat. Your info helps everyone looking to catch stripers anywhere. Keep up the great work. We greatly appreciate you. Jeff S.

When the water temperature it's warm most fish moves very slowly .they only start getting active again from 12am to 5am. That's when the water temperature drops .only in summer time.

Mike I like your explanations for how to use everything. I have been watching a lot of your videos on planer boards and am going to have to give those a try. But I am interested in learning more about your rod holders you are using that hold up to 4 rods on each unit. Are those custom made or are they clamp on items.

Thanks for the information, So basically I live and fish too far north. I fish at kent narrows, kent island, Annapolis, bay bridge, choptank Cambridge. So mike I'm just asking should I fish closer to cobb island, solomons island, point lookout area or is that still too far north? My largest rockfish has been 25 pounds THAT'S IT! I can't seem to catch anything larger than that. So from watching your video I assume I'm catch native rockfish that never leave the bay. Please respond also great informative video
@MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS4 жыл бұрын
The largest biomass of migrating fish will definitely be closer to the mouth of the bay during the winter. I have some friends that have caught big girls way up by you in Spring, they DO come up there to spawn, but you would use tactics that involve going way shallow after the biggest girls.

Mike what is the max amount of line you let out behind the planer? Is the goal to be close to the bottom with your eel or does it depend on where and when your fishing.
@MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS4 жыл бұрын
It definitely varies but not a whole lot. These bigger fish are up off the bottom. Sometimes I only put 4-5 feet behind the board, most of the time I set 12-20 feet out. 👍
