Stephanie is a good person. Notice how she reassured the children by giving Brooke the benefit of the doubt. She doesn’t try to poison them with reasons to resent their mother. She is also unconditionally loving to Hope, who isn’t even related to her. She always treated Hope like one of her own and made her feel like one of the family. Even despite the fact that Hope’s conception was one of the ugliest, darkest chapters of the show.

Not by blood. Same way with my friend son. My friend dad not his blood dad but his son still calls him grandfather and he sees him as his father since his dad abandoned him as the child similar to Hope.

In every way meaningful Hope was just as much her grandchild as RJ was. Blood doesn't make family; Love does. And Stephanie loved all of Brooken children...even Lil Eric until he became Pomous, Vindictive, Homicidal, Indignant Ric.
