Just a tip from a former appliance salesman if you hook up an extra fridge or freezer keep it full even if it’s just with jugs of water it will cut the cost to run dramatically

Love it when scrappers pick up metals from the side of roads . There is so much of it here in new york that people don't care. This is how new york is uncaring. But if your a metal scrapper and need to feed and keep a roof over your head scrapping metal from the highways and roads are the place to pick.

Used to pick-up gaylord containers (4'x4' boxes) full of clean bubble wrap and foam popcorn every week from a helicopter manufacturing company....helped save me alot of money when I was selling on eBay. Amazing how much of it hits the trash considering how much it costs to buy.

Watching Mike the Scavenger is the best kind of entertainment you can find, such energy when he finds a dumpster or a pile when curbside scavenging. You can't help but to get excited with him. One word of caution. Most dumpsters are located on private property and you can be fined for taking stuff from them. Be sure to look for no trespass signs first.

Those lamp shade hoops with the ferrals to secure the shade can sell for $5! They usually cost $10+ in the store. Also if the shades are good and clean, they are good for $10! Even the cheapest shade goes for $20 in the store.

went to my scrap yard this morning and tin dropped another 40 a ton. bummer !! I will hold off and call after the 1st and see whats going on. just going to hord it for a while. haven't turned in non Farris in a few months so going to have a great payday when those prices finally go back up. got two full 55 gal barrels of cords and a big pile of motors and compressors and a big pile of ACR's ready to go. and alot of #1 and #2 copper. just waiting on prices to go back up.

My son drives a roll-off for Republic in Montana; he's forever dragging cool stuff home. His biggest score so far is a riding mower that needed about $100 worth of repair, and his biggest heartache was a 20 yard open top that was loaded with 50 years worth of tool accumulation. Lots of duplicates, and lots of old Craftsman and SnapOn, some old Proto. He grabbed what he could, and the widow was sure she wanted to toss it all, so most of that 20 yard went to the landfill. 😢😢

We're getting ready to cut up some more Motors and RV AC units which is aluminum copper and copper number two they always say a scrapper never retires.
