Soak the back of the fan in rubbing alcohol 90% for about 30 minutes pour some distilled water through the motor area and let dry in the sun should work perfectly after motor is probably gooped up

It's your scrap to do whatever you want to do with it Mike. Your content is great whether you are jumping in a dumpster, curbside picking, taking things apart, or stripping wire. @@spaight711 If you have the time/space... It's always better to clean the motors up. Also, ease of removal of the copper. Me I always break them down to maximize my $$$ per trip to the scrap yard.

@@spaight711 The best is to find a yard that pays good for the motors as is. My yard pay enough that it doesn't really make sense to break them down unless they are over 100 lbs

I just ran across your site and I love it. We have two dumpsters here in our large mobile home park and one is for recyclables. The other is junk that I check about three times a week. I took our recyclables down about an hour ago and came back with a like-new set of jumper cables, electrical boxes and new duplex receptacles. I've rescued a few laptops and desktops in the last four years. Glad to see I'm not the only scrounger in this world.

What I realy like about you MTS is when you find a big haul like the motors you get every last on out of the dumpster. As others have said, it’s very therapeutic watching you each week, keep on doing what you do! I salvage those plastic tool boxes and cut the inner parts out, they make great parts storage boxes. Got rid of a few to friends when they have seen mine!

Easiest way I've found to get tires off of rims is to just cut into them with a good recip saw. You'll have to go down into the rim a bit to get all the way thru the steel belts. Will be way easier now that most of the tire is already gone. Good find. My yard wouldn't take them even with that little bit of rubber. Sell the strollers yet? Love your channel. Keep up the good work!

Mike when u get those rims with tire left on, just take a Sawzall and cut through the bead of the tire the rims scrap anyways, if they were steel rims you would heat the bead of the rim where the tire seats until you start seeing a Little Smoke Off the tire and then the bead will pop off really easy. Enjoy watching you go through those dumpsters

In the UK and the EU commercial companies have a duty of care for their waste which means recyling as much as possible. In the USA they just dig a hole and run away lol....

I don't know diddly about scrapping, but I still get all excited for you when your truck is full! Whatever you make from all that stuff I don't know, but you sure do earn every penny of it, that's for sure! And it's so much fun to watch, and see how excited you get for stuff. For me I don’t think of it as earning it as much as I would the therapeutic side of it. It’s a treasure hunt. Who doesn’t like a good treasure hunt? And just realizing that you saved all that scrap from reaching the landfill and received a nice payout in return is what it’s all about

The rubber stuck to the rims would most likely come off with a torch and elbow grease , nice score Mike more DC POWER to you.

Sawzall those beads on those rims and do a motor scrapout with weights only copper and cast aluminum. If motors are aluminum windings forget the scrapout and go for weight and payout clip. Great finds!

I used to be a scraper but nothing to the level you are. And even then, I made TONS of money. My father would sit in the carport stripping down and separate all I brought home to increase it's value. A very simple and yet, very profitable way of life.
