As a local I do this almost every day whenever we have extra food or clothes that don't fit anymore I go to a construction site and give it away, they are always very grateful and I love putting a smile On there faces , I know that none of the successes of the UAE would have been possible with ought all the expat's who are calling the UAE there second home. I love that Mike brought up the construction workers in Dubai. I went with my wife 10 years ago before I had kids, and I witnessed how these individuals were treated. Needless to say, I didn’t like it. So I promised myself I wouldn’t go again. Fast forward 10 years, with 2 children, I am tempted. These videos gives me hope. Mike is a legend. Respect to him.

My girlfriend has been doing a charity back here in the uk in Cheshire, shes been doing it for 8 years now and donates to 700 children and its absolutely amazing seeing kids who wont get a toy get a toy on Christmas day, it does make you sit back and make you realise how lucky we are not being in such a bad situation, outstanding work mate you've done a really good thing in what you done and ive got the upmost respect for you and your family are proud 🇬🇧👍

I'm really grateful to Mike for showing the reality of the construction workers in Dubai. Everyone now wants to go to Dubai and "live their best life" in the city that is the face of wealth now but what they fail to realise is how Dubai got to the position they are today. It was nothing but an empty dessert 30 years ago and the people that built this place are still the ones that are struggling the most. Of course I'm not against those poeple who are in Dubai or visit there, but I defo do think everyone should know the truth behind the city and make an effort to help them even if it's the smallest contribution. Loved this video Mike, keep it up.

Spent Christmas in Johannesburg, South Africa doing the same. I gave money and food to street kids, a few people said I shouldn't have posted it but little do they know I do this every week and never post. I have been to Dubai for a month and I only had to go on & travel on the Metro lines quite few times & I have seen EVERYTHING! Especially in Deira area! Dubai is luxury in the tourist area, everywhere else is in GREAT GREAT NEEDS! Most of the people from Asian surrounding countries are living in Dubai and pulling heavy weights in life on an everyday basis! Dubai is just a city like others, good and bad are there, everywhere. You are a good man, what a wonderful thing you did and at christmas time giving is so much better than receiving. There are people everywhere who are in need and sadly it is getting worse. I went to India ten years ago and saw the deprivation and I came back a changed woman. You give good advice which is to treat everyone the same, it is something I have learnt to do and it has opened my eyes to appreciating what each and every one of us does from the people who make up the food we eat to the doctors who work tirelessly. I respect you for the second half of the video. I've lived for 10 months this year in Abu Dhabi, as a British citizen and it was an eye opener. The liberties I have as a British citizen is not the same as someone who's an expat over there. The government caters towards tourists and not residents and treats non Arabs who lived there for decades as second rate citizens. It's sad, on the outside Dubai/UAE is this tropical haven where there's no crime and no bullshit and sunshine and beaches and luxury, on the inside there's poverty racism/colourism, political oppression and citizen suppression.
