Naah. he is just vey unique and i presume he practised since he was a baby. every human is born with the ability to make every noise known to man, but we lose the ability as our tongues and mouth muscles as well as our voicebox adapts. but if you practise from a young age they dont chance... just like with having a nhigh voice when singing. another example is my mate can make a perfect dolphoin noise and i dont know anyone else who can do it.

tgjadm If you're implying it wouldn't sound like that without editing, I can assure you this is not correct. When he records the synth bass, it requires little editing and it very easily could sound like that with just -1 Oct... and perhaps some skillful EQing. Let me start off by saying the microphone you see in the video is not the one that was used to record the audio you're hearing. He uses the Shure SM7B (or perhaps one that just really, really looks like it. Either way it's irrelevant) to record his bass and drum parts. The SM7B already has a big low end boost. It's usually meant for radio and tv vocals to get that "sexy" factor in their voices. But it's perfect for his use. Second, he takes advantage of what we in the audio engineering world call the Proximity Effect. The proximity effect is basically this natural phenomenon where, as you get physically closer to the microphone itself, the low end of your voice gets significantly more drastic. The reason is because low frequencies, around 250-275 Hz and lower, dissipate much, much faster and as you move further from the source (in this case, his mouth), so you don't hear it as much whereas right in front of his mouth you get about the most you can without shoving a microphone down his throat and pointing it right at his vocal chords. SO, all that to say he puts the microphone as close to his mouth as possible. Probably touching his lips. Odd but whatever. So between the microphone itself and the mic placement, the low end of his voice is already sounding sexy. Add on to that proper EQing of the channel and dropping 1 octave, you could easily get the sound he achieved without adding on any processing effects.
