I remember watching this interview years ago and really being impressed by Michael Francese but now knowing everything I know he is a scumbag liar snitch stool pigeon that never did 90% of the things he claimed to do. He ratted on the mafia, on his partner, and his father. His brother also snitched on their own dad. He never killed to make his bones. He sat down with the government and gave them information to avoid a long prison sentence and to keep his assets from being seized. And the only reason he was ever allowed into that life was out of respect for his father. He wasn't a street guy. He was a spoiled little brat that ran around using his father's name to profit. Sonny is not even his biological father. He's an adopted bastard with no idea who his real father was. And he's not allowed back in NY unless he's got a film production crew with them and armed security. Now he is a fake pastor hiding behind the Bible. What a clown 🤡

@@tyanthony44 It's like meeting a hero for him. This is Michael afterall, his old stomping grounds was Brooklyn, where Mike is from. Mike probably grew up hearing stories about this guy, especially since he was in the wrong side of the rails robbing and doing shit urchins do. These were the guys no one messed with no matter how tough you were in the streets. Edit: I realize looking up Michael as a hero during his crime career is wrong in itself. It's just amazing now, looking at him using it as an avenue to teach people that it was wrong, he did pick up things there that he valued though. Like never talk, be disciplined, be loyal to family, be faithful, carry yourself well, if you have to the lie to save a life etc etc. And to the point of him being an informant. He did say no one ever went to jail because of it. Not sure how true that is though.

A single mom who works and takes care of her kids, a first responder that risks his life for someone, a soldier that risks his life for his country, doctors, nurses, etc, etc. What is with people like you worshiping people you don't even know, especially someone like him who definitely has a checkered past. @Eammon Wright Thank you for your comment. I believe in this video or a different one he speaks about being approached at church by made men etc who were with their wives. In their life, no one acts up in front of women, children, and elders. NEVER in front of WOMEN EVER. He was scared shitless b/c he thought for sure he was going to be murdered in church in front of the masses. At this time he turned his life over to God. That doesn't mean the mob is going to give you a pass b/c on racking you. Up to this point, his wife and mother-in-law have been taunted, etc by the feds. He was thinking of how to get out of the church, all the while trying to stay calm. The mademen told him they wanted to be saved. And heard he changed his life. For him he felt God told him to switch out of the lifestyle and come to him. Ever since he been preaching. He usually states that he's out of "THE LIFE" but not. Because, NOBODY leaves the life and walks the earth freely. He's still considered the Captain no matter what. He NEVER takes the same route more than once. That's how they catch you, by learning your routines.

@Eammon Wright Michael does speaking in different venues. He speaks to college athletes about gambling. He talks to churches about how the Lord saved him. He does interviews like the one in this video. Now he has to make a living. So I don't see it as he is preaching just to make money. He uses his ability to speak to earn a living because he has to eat and so does his family. I believe Michael became a Christian in 86. So this means he has been a believer for 34 years. He seems to be consistent in his walk with God. So I think he is the real deal.

@Eammon Wright Years ago I did a talk before a group outside the church and a lady came up to me afterwards and thanked me for my message. She said she was Catholic and I should be a Catholic Priest. I told her that I would like to do it but I doubt my wife would let me. lol. What I do in sermon prep is to find a text of scripture and then study it. The first thing you do is to really learn what the text says. After this you try to find a unifying theme that ties to passage together. I call it the big idea. The big idea will usually be the title of the message. I will then divide the message into sections or points which will all contribute to the big idea that came from the text. Usually it will be three points and with each I try to find an illustration for each. Normally I do two sermons a week but with the virus we only have Sunday Morning Church in the parking lot where everybody stays in their cars. All other business meetings and prayer meeting have been done with Zoom. May God bless you too.

Two distinct formats: Joe is having a conversation and asking questions (though not quite an interview) while Mike let's his guests tell their story largely uninterrupted, just saying as little as possible to prod the discussion along in the right direction. Both have their merits, but there's a third style of podcast I've found that I enjoy where it's the same two hosts having discussions/debates every time, for example (in the MMA world) Big John McCarthy and Josh Thompson, or an adult and a half-retarded man baby like Bryan Callen and Brenda Schwab, respectively.

I’m a huge film nerd, and I actually geeked out over the way this interview is shot. The close up shots of their heads speaking - it creates this sense of isolation, like when your friend tells a story. Inter split with wider shots of the three of them sitting around the table at different angles - just often enough to remind you you’re with friends. It’s great.

MDC, Michael was there in 1986. Sammy was pinched in 1991 in MCC. Michael did his time and never arrested ever again after pleading guilty I'm 1986 and was released in 1989. So there paths never crossed. Michael went out to LA and then new York and was released in 1989. And 2 years later Sammy got pinched.
