I used to be there. Have hope that you can and will get out of it. It’s trying to fill a void that porn is incapable of filling, it’s a void that only Jesus can fill. He has to become bigger to you than porn. When Jesus becomes bigger and more beautiful to you than anything else, the desires for those other things will begin to fade away. It changes from “I know porn is bad so I don’t want to do it”, to, “I cannot even imagine grieving the heart of my Savior because of all He has done for me”. I used to be so addicted that I legitimately did not know how anyone could ever love me, or how I could ever get out. I’m overjoyed to say that I’ve been out of porn for probably close to 5 years now, am beautifully Married, and have a second child coming this Christmas. Go to war with porn by making Jesus infinitely bigger in your life that porn is now, and He can and will redeem all the things it has corrupted. Get accountability too. More people have struggled and overcome by the power of Jesus than you realize, don’t allow the enemy to trick you into believing you need to hide it and be ashamed, or do it on your own. Go to people you trust and are more mature than you in Christ and have them help you. Even if you will have to lay down any positions or serving in this season, being free from this is way more valuable. I’ll be praying for you.

I pray He would fill you with so much love and power that you don't even want to look at porn. Go pray for someone. Go start doing the things He wants you to do. What i'd like to know is why is it suddenly a problem when Netflix produces/airs a totally unbiblical show about Mary, but it's totally ok for Dallas Jenkins to produce an unbiblical show about Jesus. Why does the goalposts keep moving with professing Christians? You'd think ppl would have a bigger problem with Dallas Jenkins.
@Maurcusj7772 ай бұрын
@theeternalsbeliever1779 why is it a double standard? Netflix has a proven track record of botching shows based on nearly every type of sorce material, while most of us have never heard of Dallas Jenkins before the show took off. As for the show being unbiblical, I don't have a problem, per se, with a show, including extra biblical things. The question is one of intent and respect. Why is the material included or changed, and do the makers have enough respect for the material. The show *may* be totally fine, I am merely judging the trailer based on its content in light of what I know about Netflix produced shows of the past. If it is good, then I will celebrate its existence.

@@theeternalsbeliever1779 Dallas Jenkins does not claim, nor has he ever claimed, that The Chosen is an exact 1 to 1 depiction of the events as written in the Bible. If that's what you want, then just go read the Bible. No one is stopping you. The Chosen is a dramatisation and a TV series. Of course the creators are going to take some artistic licence in order to fill in some gaps that are not explained or are left out in scripture. That's what makes for a good TV show. Plus, no fictional scene that Dallas has decided to add in or subtract in The Chosen has in any way been blasphemous to God, so I honestly don't understand what you people are complaining about. The reason why there aren't more people whining about Dallas and The Chosen is because most people have an IQ higher than 10 and understand that the show isn't meant to be an exact copy of scripture.

The mob scene would have never happened in reality, from what I can tell, because the idea of her "adultery" was hidden. It says Joseph was a righteous man and planned to put her away secretly (Matthew 1:19). That tells me that he wanted to avoid her going through court proceedings and receiving a stoning. Perhaps it's a combination of reading too much into things and not enough information, but I don't think that scene would've happened in reality.

Oh brother, don’t even get me started on that one. Also, Lecrae being in a movie is not a good measure of how biblical it’s gonna be.
@ainembabazijoachim372Ай бұрын
I truly think that stories told like this, and this is not condoning them not telling the biblical story word for word, are still stories. Journey to Bethlehem is a musical and it's a form of story telling using music. So the modern elements in it shouldn't be a problem. What is important is the story that is being told. That also gets back to this movie, Mary. There are many unbiblical elements but a story is being told. Let's hear it.

2:33 In the tradition of the Catholic with visions given to saints and blessed, St. Anna could not conceive. In a promise, if given a child, they would consecrate the child to the temple. They didn't take this has Mike says and adapted it. That is what the truth is. Maybe Mike ran accross it on a Catholic website... an Internet search for Joachim and Anna would give you Catholic sources and some Eastern Orthodox. Saints or Blesseds given visions of Mary's life: 1) Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerick - German mother 2) Saint Bridget of Sweden 3) Blessed Mary of Agreda 4) Saint Elizabeth of Schenau. At least Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerick received the stigmata - the sign that messages come from God. Like St. Padre Pio in the modern era (plus his body is uncorruptible, meaning it does not decay). The two signs God given us that the person is a saint or a blessed. Their bodies do not decompose and instead smell like fragant flowers at some churches around the world. =====four great Catholic mystics into one coherent story on the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Based primarily on the famous revelations of Ven. Anne Catherine Emmerich and Ven. Mary of Agreda, it also includes many episodes described in the writings of St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Elizabeth of Schenau.

Thanks for this video! I tend to read the Bible and refresh before watching these Films, so I can understand what’s the modern stamp. I’m glad you’re pointing these out. I’m assuming Herod is in the Temple here if he sees her. In extra-biblical sources, people believed Mary was a temple virgin, doing the sewing and possibly weaving the textiles. Until her time of service was over and then she would enter marriage. I wonder if they’re going to talk about her probable vow of chastity. Have you seen Netflix’s miniseries about Moses?

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that when it mentions in Luke 2:35: "a sword shall pierce your soul also"; I read it as it were speaking of the knowledge and conviction of sin (the piercing of the soul), not excluding Mary from the equation, as some would assume that Mary was perfect and/or holy and therefore deify her. And afterwards within the same verse, it says "so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed"; Which brings me to Hebrew 4:23 - "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

@userJohnSmith 1 by saying "no one" deifies Mary. You are saying that you know how every single person in the world worships or thinks. If that's not the case then you should respectfully either publicly or privately retract that statement. Unless you can show clearly that you do know how everyone either worships or thinks. And 2nd: I take it that you're either a new believer, claim to be a Christian but don't really have a personal relationship with God or just trolling... IDK. But I don't get a genuine love from God out of you. It would seem you didn't read the verses I sent, carefully. Nevertheless, I hope you have a blessed.

It's Netflix. I have family that saw this trailer, got excited and seem to forget the character of the company producing it. I fully expect girl boss themes, oppressed feminist themes of misogyny, and a whole lot of omitting God from the narrative. Did you notice "Gabriel's" line, "all things are possible." Notice there's a period there. Nothing follows. He never says "with God", which is ironic considering that line was stolen from Jesus himself later in Matthew. If I watch this it will be strictly so I can be educated on it and rip it apart as I have no doubts it will be a dumpster fire.
@fromfilmtocodeАй бұрын
What I feel from the trailer is that it will miss the point. It will go from the angle "I do everything for me and my love for this baby". But in reality the real message is, "I will do this because God TOLD me to, and I will follow Him and NOT my will, because He knows about how to save my soul". They will skew God's will to "me, me, me". I will watch it very cautiously and skeptically.

This is a catholic view of Mary! 😯 When Mary's father is speaking in the beginning, it makes me think of the catholic teaching of "immaculate conception" which says, "The Immaculate Conception is the belief that the Virgin Mary was free of original sin from the moment of her conception." That would have to be a miracle, as her father attests. This also helps to explain the catholic church's worship of Mary and why they place such an emphasis on praying to her. on TheCatholicHandbook's website, they add, "It is important to note that the Immaculate Conception does NOT refer to the conception of Jesus Christ, but rather to Mary’s own conception in the womb of her mother, Saint Anne." I had always thought it was about Jesus/Yeshua's conception so this was shocking to me when I first learned it and it still feels that way. So sad!

There is a lost book of the Bible known as The Gospel of the Birth of Mary. And it has a similar story to Hannah and Samuel. Mary's mother (who the book calls Anna) prayed for Mary and made a promise that Mary would be raised in the temple. From there she had her arranged marriage with Joseph and the story continues as normal. I'm wondering if this movie is using that book for its major source material.
