Today we go to Goodwill thrift store looking for items to flip online. It was hard to believe all what I saw while sourcing for reselling. I find quite a few items to sell on Ebay and share why I like to buy them.

I stopped Donation GWILL THE day I saw all my items I donated On counter, shelf over priced 3 times even for which I paid way less from the store . They suppose to be non profit . They are tremendously profiting off free items an all that they receive . Salvation Army does the same thing .I rather give to the church & shelter than goodwill.

I see that quite often. Canning Quart or Pint jars along with throw away pickle, mayonase jars for $2-$3 that are really cheaper new! I got brand new half gallon canning jars for $2 with lids and rings last week.

Goodwill should throw out all damaged items. Nobody wants to pay for them.

💯 Frankly it ticks me off that they put obviously broken items on the shelves(like a figurine missing the head). They should have a section for chips and cracks. The items could be sold at very discounted prices. People could then decide if they want to purchase the item.

What you need to realize is Goodwill is staffed with let's say not so careful people, so if you tell them to put a star on a Christmas tree that's all they'll do until told otherwise. If they are told to load up a cart with priced items and put them out on the shelves that's all they"ll do. Goodwill does throw out items that do not sell and they are carted off to the local landfill.

I always kept potatoes in the biggest part and onions in the smaller part. Never had a problem with it. I raised 5 kids also so the supply was always used and refilled.

You can mail a fishing rod in a PVC pipe. You mmight have to send the reel in a box, but PVC works really good for long skinny items.

The CEO of goodwill made 52 million dollars for 2020 alone. They get the stuff for free and charge more than what they originally cost. Ours in KY is a joke. The only thing ever half price is the clothes. Nothing else. The woman that works at goodwill told me what ever don't sell they throw away..if they would lower their prices instead of raising them they might sell alot more. I don't ever donate to goodwill. I donate to st. Vincent de Paul, they actually help the community.

Mikey maybe sometimes when you think shopper “jacked” the item, maybe just maybe it was the original owner and they donated the parts they didn’t need/want. When I was in Murano Italy touring a glass factory they said there is no way all the glass claimed to be Murano is really Murano because there’s just never been enough glass blowers to make that much. I’m not sure exactly how they worded it but it certainly made sense. Yes even the made in Murano stickers are fakes.

It really irks me when people open up taped items at Goodwill. Once it is open the parts usually get broken or go missing. Goodwill has no choice but to discard the item because it is no longer sellable.

See what people don’t know that if you don’t know too much about antiques or vintage or valuable stuff you look it up on your phone it doesn’t mean that’s what it’s value there’s things that are valued at hundreds of dollars but you choose to look with your phone and it’s just a price people are putting to sell it on eBay or whatever because they don’t know the value of it so they just put it there just to make some money that’s the difference between knowing value of the stuff they sell that’s not too easy to do you Gotta be kind of like an expert or close

I agree with the other two comments. Goodwill gets freee donations . Prices are too high. I don't shop Goodwill for that reason.
