Goodwill may be more well known because of the many locations, but there are usually alternatives like Salvation Army and independents.

I went to the Goodwill in Richmond Indiana Sunday and they had two pairs of cedar shoe trees and they didn’t have price tags on them. Normally they have a price tag and then they also write the price in marker somewhere on the item. I took them to the counter and they asked me if $1.99 sounded good. I said definitely. I had purchased a pair the day before and I had to pay $9.99. Bought a Philips Magnavox cassette Walkman and it was $5.99. Crazy prices at this Goodwill store.

These people get the stuff don't need it for free if they priced it at a reasonable cost and they they they could sell all of it even the stuff that they sell throw out in the dumpsters and make a killing you get that's the law of resale bring in the merchandise sell it turn it over and bring in the next Don't have it sitting around it's sitting around for too long you don't make no money or a lot less on it especially when you got it for free

Well, how odd . I found that exact glass flamingo 🦩 at a Marshall’s store here. It was marked down to 5.50. I flipped it on FB marketplace for 25.00. Now I wish I would have kept it around for at least a while 😮. It made a lovely companion to my pink depression glass I found at Salvation Army. sounds like a greedy business , and if their not being charitable they should change their name. sadly where I live in la. since Katrina and especially since covid other than some used clothes and small appliances our shelves mostly have 5 below items for sale or newly discontinued items {like big lots} AND the clothing prices or close to what u find on clearance in stores

The Current "Beanie Baby" Fad (things that go down in value due to over production): Rae Dunn Pottery, Funko Pops, Marshmallow Plush (or squishy plush). And on and on. How long will these things last? Fads come and go. Over produced stuff, with very limited worth buying. Make the money while you can, I guess. I'd rather spend my $100 on ONE good thing, than on 10 cheap ones. Saves on all the packing and shipping if nothing else. Plus, I can find that ONE thing than track down 10 cheap ones.

.... I appreciate the fact I dont see you hunting in the clothing much--- but seeing other resellers in the clothing always makes me sad. Its people like that that mean I cant find decent clothing for myself of my children. Always get left with the items that are so worn, stained, or smelly. Honestly, makes me want to dumpster dive instead.

I went to a great thrift store on CA. Inexpensive and wonderful items. Goodwill is picked over stuff at expensive prices. Also the jewelry etc. is not in the store anymore.
