Our store also has rules. NO touching the carts bringing out new items. The coloured tags are only used by staff. If the coloured tag indicates the item has been there for a certain amount of time. The simple take the item off the floor and send to a different location. Sales are rare. At least Value Village here has senior day every Tuesday at 30% off. They & Salvation Army also give coupons for 20%off when you bring in a donate.

Mikey, I worked for Eipper Ultralights in the 1980s. My boss flew the ultralight in "Howard the Duck" while dressed in the duck suit! As much as I wanted to like that movie (it paid my salary for awhile), it was dreadful, but I'm glad someone (you) watched it! 🦆

Hey Mikey! Love to Super Cort! In Maine they won't take large kitchen appliances, or ACs , nothing with freon or funk. No beds or cribs. Nothing that might have been or ever be recalled. But , and this is a big ❤ story.... there is a furniture store small in state chain. And they do furniture take away, or when they get a return they can't sell. Anything decent they put in a warehouse. And with a call from a social worker, priest, you get the idea. The person in need can make an appointment to meet at the warehouse and take what they need. 5 or so years ago, that was me. Due to medical issues lost my job, couldn't work. Ended up in a shelter for almost a year until I got this beautiful home which is subsidized. Six months later, finally my disability went through. But if not for the furniture store, I had managed to store a daybed, but they gave me a queen boxspring, mattress and frame and a nice recliner that was like new, tag said wrong fabric color. ❤❤❤😊

Hi Mikey. Thanks for taking us along on the journey! I too am often baffled at what I see inside those little misc item bags. Like a bag of kitchen items with a toenail clipper and crochet hook 🤷🏻‍♀️ Keep up the good work you’re doing on your channel. Thrifting is a win win all around. Goodwill and other charity thrift stores are there for people living from paycheck to paycheck. I've seen people buying for resale show up when Goodwill opens head to the clothing racks and grab every piece of clothing with that days coloured tag. Then someone comes after who actually needs help get screwed. I'm so glad to see you don't do that

My local goodwill have claimed the donation are down 28% and after seeing their pricing methods increases I can see why resellers making purchases have declined as well. I have three independent resales close too due to over pricing and I'm in Texas.

Hi Mikey, I would have bought the lady lamp with shade! So pretty, but awful to ship! You have lots of nice Goodwills, but that fridge was disgusting. They couldn’t take the time to hose it out! 🤢 Loved the wine rack credenza, what a steal for $30 ! you could refinish it!

Mikey my local Goodwill will not let you touch clothing racks they are just bringing out same with carts. They have a no touch rule until the workers put the item on rack or shelf. It’s SO AGGRAVATING. They also will not sell you an item if it’s doesnt have a price tag. They put it behind the counter and hold it till the night staff price it and it might take a day or two before it’s back on the shelf. I found this out when I brought an original painting to the check out. The girl grabbed it from me explaining their policy to me I was so disappointed. I arrived at the store before the doors opened the next day. Doors open I ran directly to the artwork section. It was there I grabbed it and ran to the checkout. Only to find out they didn’t price it just put it back on the floor so again they wouldn’t sell it to. I asked to talk to a manager because I really wanted to buy it!! Manager said you know our policy. I explained the situation that they made the error twice. I’ve come there twice to buy it. They tried saying if they sold it to me it wouldn’t be fair to the other people. I almost lost it! What other people I’ve tried to buy it twice but you’re going to give someone else a chance to buy it if I’m not coming back a third time before store opens just hoping it’s been priced this time. I’ve even had salt and pepper shakers one was priced $1.49 the other wasn’t priced. Again they wouldn’t sell it to me. I prefer our value village or Salvation Army. They want to sell their inventory they’ll slap a new price tag on anything Happy thrifting

I bought a squatters house. had to rip out carpet some drywall. but I would buy it (the white refrigerator) and power wash bleach, oxy clean, and coffee grounds get rid of odor. 😅😅 car wash used rugs.. 😅 But not flipping this house. moving in and fixing up Handi-accessible.. forever home.. 😂two full baths done. one to go before tackling a new kitchen.

Hi Susan I feel exactly the same way. I buy a lot of baby clothing. At one thrift store you can buy baby clothing by the Bag. The down fall is you really have to pick through the pile. Some items (sleepers/onesies) are so badly stained. My thought is, if you wouldn’t put it on your own child why would you donate it or feel someone else would want to put it on their child. I really appreciate buying men’s dress shirts or ties that still have the professional cleaning tag in it. Happy thrifting. Louise

Goodwill prices have gotten utterly ridiculous!!! They seem to forget they get their shit for free!!! Pretty sure the guy in the photo was Bing Crosby. The bag of stamps for $13 isn’t a bad price for a crafter, considering new they’re usually about $5 each or more. Please wash your hands thoroughly after touching that refrigerator, because the handles were as filthy as the inside! At 26:48, the red and black bag is a vintage Marlboro bag worth decent money.
