Peter Luger has a reputation for rigid staff, but when I was there, they were nice to us too. I think waiters tend to decide whether to be stiff or friendly based on the body language of the customer. Some customers expect serious service. Some don't. I was there with siblings, and we were not overly serious. So their behavior was also friendly and casual.

@@bidhrohi12 I went in November 2017 because of this video. The guy on the right at 4:15 was my server and had no idea about this video (it had about 300k views or so at the time). I showed him the clip with him in it and he left to tell his coworkers. It's such a nice place and that steak was literally the high point of my NYC trip. I've begun annoying people now because any time someone mentions NYC, I mention the steak.
