More of a question. Probably a stupid one. I just started a job screen printing with the Javelin automatic textile screen printer. It’s only my 3rd day and I’ve never done this. How do you know which side of the squeegee is the flood side and which side is the print side? Some of our squeegees have an F on them but if they don’t how do you know which is which? I don’t want to put my squeegee on backward? Please help anyone!!!!!

Mikey, how do you find flash back vs production? As I have mentioned in a few comments I am helping set up a similar press, and it has 3 flash backs. #1 #3 #6. It seems one has to print white, flash then proceed, but no printing is happening while you wait for the flash. Even running 2 whites. #1 white/flashback #2 flatten #3 2nd wh/flashback then onto colors. What do you end up with for overall per hour production? Sorry for all the questions, but your press is the only one I have access too! LOL! Videos very helpful. Thanks so much Cheers

Thanks! I would have one on station #1 #3 and #5. Move them around as needed depending on how the print job is handling being printed wet on wet. For large runs only needing one flash, you can put it on station #2 with it set to table up. That way you can go around 500 shirts and hour.

@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 Thanks I will look at that.

@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 How do you set it for 'table up' - after raising it up higher enough, clearly.

MIkey!! Life saver for me. I am used to the M&R chopper style, but I am currently helping install and set up a Tuf Freedom. I couldn't figure out how to get squeegee pressure with out mashing down during the flood stroke. I will literally try this tomorrow. Did/do you like this V set up? I noticed you sold the Javlin, what did you get? Cheers
@mikeydesignssilkscreen4734 жыл бұрын
Glad you found it useful! The v squeegee does a good job and they get the job done. They're a little more of a pain to clean, but setup time is quick. Once you dial them in you hardly have to touch them.

@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 Well things didn't go as planned. My problem was the print was ok but the flood pressure was so high it would have printed had the pallet been up. 1/2 inch of screen deflection. Following your settings the flood was great but then the print would only clear about 3/4 of the way then it seem to lighten up. Obviously there is a balnce that need to be achieved. Any idea if there is an operator manual online? The press only came with a 13 page owners manual that covered the control panel am basic maintenance. Also, I notice you went from an install video to a selling it video pretty quickly. Did you do a video to explain. I am totally curious. Was it the 6 colors wasn't enough? Technical issues? Thanks for the reply. Cheers

Do you have to adjust the flood and print settings each job?
@mikeydesignssilkscreen4735 жыл бұрын
Not at all. I tend to set it and forget it. I may have to tweak the pressure occasionally but for the most part I leave it alone once I have it dialed in.

You'll have to do some testing. Based off your emulsion type, and your exposure unit.

@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 Are you print/flash print whites? Are you using 195 on your black shirts? I use 230 for sim process, but usually 110 on darks. Cheers Edit: OK I watched the remainder of the video. Definitely looking to make a flattening screen. Have you noticed more and more shirts have fibres sticking up? I have been printing for quite sometime and only the cheapo shirts were like this. Don't get me started on 'tri-blends' Moving to auto so flattening is going to be great. Hand printing is becoming a problem as everything seems to have these fibres, and it can feel awful.

@@joeshmoe7967 I like to use 195 for the base. Print print flash. Top colors with 230. If it's sim process, 230 for the base print print flash, then hit the top colors once.
