I love this pillow. I am a long time crocheter however, I learn better following along with these tutorials rather than reading a pattern. I'm a more visual person so it makes more sense to me to be able to see it. Thanks very much for all you give to this channel. Hugs from Long Island NY ❤️

Trying to follow this pattern but if you chain 3 at the beginning of rows 3 and 5, then DC in each stitch across, aren't you adding a stitch each time? It seems you should start in the 2nd stitch?
@TheCrochetCrowd2 жыл бұрын
If you think it is wrong, just follow your gut instinct in case you are adding stitches.

Okay if you take and you crochet in the fourth Stitch from the hook you're going to end up with 12 double crochets at the end of the row and I don't have 14 I've tried this three times I don't come up with 14 I come up with 12 every time with a beginning chain of 16

I’ve just started this and the tutorial is great however you say multiples of 4 without the additional stitches but you have 2 additional stitches at the end otherwise the bobble is the last stitch. If you also count the stitches on your graph it has 14 not 12. So I’m a little confused.
@TheCrochetCrowd3 жыл бұрын
Let me revisit this pattern to see if there was an update to the pattern. Just follow the pattern in the meantime and don't worry about my counting to change the sizing at this time. Thanks for your feedback.

This is going to sound crazy but every single video I watch of someone doing a double crochet stitch everyone does it differently! I have another project I’m working on and I did it the way the first tutorial showed me. Then I found a second one which was similar but still different. This one is now vastly different from the other two. Does anyone know why this would be?
@TheCrochetCrowd2 жыл бұрын
That's really odd. is the wrapping of the hook different?
@jennyj87292 жыл бұрын
@@TheCrochetCrowd yes so I’ll try to explain the two of the tutorials that had it this way. So it was going into the same loop twice essentially. So it was you have your one loop on the hook, you yarn over. Now 2 loops on hook. You go into the stitch you need. You yarn over, pull through the two loops. Now you have 2 loops left on the hook. You yarn over and have now 3 loops on the hook. You go into the same stitch. You yarn over and have pull through the first two loops. Then yarn over and pull through remaining 3 loops. Very confusing to explain but I just kept watching the video and doing it that way. Now watching this video I was like woahhhh this is a different Double Crochet stitch. However the project im currently working on I think I’ll switch to this method, it’s not looking much different except the stitches are just farther apart mine were very close the other way. SO WEIRD!

For the second row, the narrator starts off by saying DC in first stitch and then say SC in first stitch. For someone like me, who is listening and crocheting along, I ended up putting a DC and SC in the same stitch because the narrator didn't verbally correct himself and only physically.
@lameekabrown62946 жыл бұрын
Hello! I am just now doing this pillow. Was it supposed to be a DC in the first stitch and then an SC in the second? I was also confused about that.

if i want to crochet this one size 42 cm × 42 cm how many chains to start the project
@ploverwing8 жыл бұрын
+marwa kh It's dependent upon your own tension, your hook size and the yarn you choose to use. Follow the video to make yourself a small sample swatch with the hook & yarn you want to use, with your own normal tension, then measure the dimensions. You'll be able to figure out (roughly) how many stitches & rows per cm that your tension/hook/yarn gives you, and use that to calculate how big (how many stitches across & how many rows high) you'll need to create a pillow of 42 cm x 42 cm. The starting chain will need to be that many stitches plus the starting 4ch stitches to represent the first dc of the first dc round. Hope that helps!

Wait when you started your second row you said to double crochet into the first stitch but then you dropped it and said to single crochet into the first stitch.. I'm lost now
@TheCrochetCrowd3 жыл бұрын
The free pattern is available for cross reference. Sometimes I do slip up. The free pattern link states the following: 2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3 dc. Bobble in next dc. *1 sc in each of next 3 dc. Bobble in next dc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 sc in each of last 2 sts. Turn. So yes, I probably clued in I goofed and self corrected. It is a 1 sc in the first 3 sts.
