A forgotten masterpiece. I saw it in 1969 aged 15 and had to read the book. It made a big impression on me. First time I've seeen it since. Thanks for the upload.

A great movie! I did see it more than 10 times! No greek should forget how hard was our way to become a democracy again, after civil war, oppresion and military dictatur ship !!!

When it comes to pure cinema this was a thrilling, fast paced, highly involving motion picture that deserved all the awards, honors & accolades it received. I first saw it in NYC when it opened in 1969 & it was a new innovative documentary type of filmmaking.

An utterly excellent film based on a true story, and that story is followed pretty closely. The direction and acting and editing and music are all first class.

good film... I think Mikis Theodarakis is a fascinating composer...ı can not think this film without musics of Mikis. In my opinion greek people are very lucky of having a artist called Mikis Theodarakis... greeting from Turkey

Best political thriller of all time. The mob scenes are so well done that it's impossible to believe that they are acting. Irene Papas as the widow is simply heart-breaking. 6 stars.

One of my favorite films by C.Gavras. He transfered the magnificent novel 'Z' of V.Vasilikos in the wide screen at 1969, few years only after the tragic insident (G.Labrakis assasination, May 1963) by creating a master piece! A history lesson for the new generations!

The movie(1969) was filmed in Algeria and France because from 1969 and for the next 7 dark years Greece was ruled by the military Junta.Apparently the film (that finctioned the events relating to the assasination of the democratic Greek politician and peace champion doctor Grigoris Lambrakis) could not be filmed in Greece.

The crowd and fight scenes are so real, it seems alsmost like a documentary and it's so gripping from start to finish. I love the part where the generals are told to leave by a certain door if they want to avoid the press, after being indicted for murder, and the door is locked and their indignation on being subject to the legal process.
