Most of her people remained loyal of course but she’s not pure and innocent. Nahida on the other hand was imprisoned for 500 years and her people have never experienced her rule. What Ei could do is something similar to zhongli and Venti in which she lives alongside her people and spends time with them instead of spending most of her time in tenshukaku. That would make her more approachable and less scary for ordinary people
