Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum-A Polish Air Force, "Marian Pisarek" Hobby Master 1:72 Diecast Model HA6515

Between 1989 and 1990 Poland bought 9 MiG-29 9.12A and 3 MiG-29UB 9.51 from the Soviet Union. In 1996 Poland acquired 9 MiG-29A and 1 MiG-29UB from the Czech Republic in exchange for 11 Polish W-3 Sokol helicopters. In 2003 a further 22 MiG-29s were received from Germany. Red 56 MSN 2960532356/4215 from the 1.ELT - 1 Eskadra Lotnictwa Taktycznego (1st Tactical Squadron) Minsk Mazowiecki AB was given a special paint scheme honoring WWII Polish pilot Marian Pisarek who shot down 11 airplanes with 3 more probable before he was shot down by a Fw190.
Today's example is from Hobby Master. It is 1:72nd scale and made of diecast with plastic accessories. The model is of the Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum-A Polish Air Force 1 ELT, #56, Minsk Mazowieki AB, Poland, 2016.

Yes the livery is really nice. I would imagine those little lights are really easy to knock off. I would also imagine if you did sausage finger them off, they are instantly swallowed by the model parts abyss and never found again. 😂I never plan how many videos I make,haha. I just do them, I figure while I'm still above ground I'll keep doing them. I'm over 50 now so I never know when my last day is so I figure its sooner rather than later,haha. If I was in my 20's I'd probably do one video a week,haha. As always thanks for watching 😀

@@heavymetaldiecast Know what you mean- 60 odd meself and if I thought I was going to live this long I would have looked after meself a tad better! Collecting keeps me going - Nothing like the the thrill of the visiting postie and now when I get out a model I am thinking how would you do it!

I’ve got a dozen of those Mig-29 Fulcrum from HM, I was a big fan of this fighter back then. currently I don’t know still cool looking jet. and I have them all in Russian Air Force scheme.

I wish I had your problem, but due to a back injury I have plenty of time on my hands to do these videos as it gives me something to do due to not being able to work. I would certainly rather be working, haha. I sort of class this as a job/hobby now, just doesn't pay well, haha. Its all about having fun, not the amount of videos you make, I just happen to be pumping them out just because I have the time and my kids are all in their 20's so no family to look after anymore either,haha. The MiG-29 is one of my favorite aircraft. By beauty. And what HM did with it is appalling: the ailerons are too small, the aero navigation lights are like the 9.13 version, the pitot tube is in bad shape, the air brake is connected to the body, the exhaust nozzle is appalling... And these are just the main flaws. Even Witty Wings/Jc Wings look a bit better. I'm mad at HM, because when I pick up that model in my hands, I see all those flaws...

You have all the same feelings I get every morning when I look in the mirror 😂 See a lot of those things I don't see as I am not as familiar with the specifics of the aircraft like you are. Its why I enjoy your feedback. I assume HM did the model the way they did as they probably think most buyers are just collectors of diecast and if it looks right on the shelf then people are happy. Which if you didn't know the ins and outs of the Fulcrum it would look ok. But for someone like yourself that really like's the aircraft, knows the difference between multiple variants and all the detailed specifics, I can imagine it must hurt your eyes to see these errors. Who in your opinion would make the best MiG-29?

@@heavymetaldiecast Which is better? Hm.. Good question. More accurate, more similar to the original, maybe Witty Wings/Jc Wings. But he has another shortcoming, which is very noticeable. The biggest discrepancy is the angle of Kiel. At HM it is accurate. At Witty Wings/Herpa/Jc Wings it's 90° and that's bad. I don't like it very much. If they changed that, the model would be fine. By the way, what else I really don't like is the Cockpit, in the single seater. At MiG-29UB, it is not so noticeable. When closed. At 9.12, I really don't like it. HM did a better job here. There are more discrepancies in both models. Therefore, none of them are ideal. If I were only a model collector, I would choose HM. It is simpler. But since I love real fighter jets, I'm mad at both companies.

So it seems no one has yet perfected the Fulcrum, maybe Panzerkampf might have a go since they are the new kids in town,haha. We could maybe start a petition, the "Fix the Fulcrum" campaign!! Hopefully for you someone will release one that has overcome the flaws of the current models. And my apologies in advance for hurting your eyes with any further MiG-29 reviews, because I do have a couple more to come,haha 😂😂👍👍

@@heavymetaldiecast Don't joke, you didn't hurt my eyes. 😂 It is very good that you do reviews. And I think it's time to make models comparisons. For example MiG-29: HM vs Witty Wings/Herpa/Jc Wings. I think a lot of people would like it. By the way, MiG-29 is not a very special plane, it is just beautiful. And I would like a mold for him made by Caliber Wings.

@@slizevicius problem with the comparison videos it may mean I will have to be in the video,haha. The top down video format I use is great for a single model I don't need to be in it,haha. It even starts to struggle with the bigger bombers, but if I start having 2, 3 or 4 aircraft in the picture I will have to video from front on and I try not to scare people with my head to often!!!😂 But we will start doing some, I know I have said it before, but it will happen eventually 😉. Calibre Wings would make a great MiG-29!!
