Thanks for the link to this one. I really like it too. Definitely not to the same caliber as the JC Wings Prowler, but I would still be a proud Prowler daddy to own one of these. We spoke of the Arizona boneyard in your JC Wings review, and I too sometimes peruse the satellite views checking out the stock and dream about all of the sweet birds. Just a friendly hint though...when you get to the section where all of the Prowlers hang out and you get to a big gap between 2 grey Prowlers, you're probably looking right at this girl right here! Desert camo. 😉👍

Thank You for your long and nice review. I like the scheme on this plane. It is beautiful. I prefer the normal presentation over the aircraft carrier configuration displaying the wings up and disclosing some of the internal parts of the plane. However, this a matter of 'taste'. I think this is a 'delicate' model.

The Agony and the Ecstasy! I saw this advertised and thought - NEVER, NO, NOT EVER. But the design of its assembly makes it so possible as you have shown. Magnificent! Definitely a gear down model as anything else would be a waste. Fiddly-yes. I would have to assemble this over a white sheet and a box as I have just put together a Zero and managed to drop the pitot tube and the aerial so Lord alone knows what I would drop with this. Yet it is very doable and the result is fantastic. Perhaps a curious choice of aircraft to present like this but I am sure that others will follow and what a treat is in store. Such a variation in options as well. You deserve the Modelling Award for Live Assembly.

Yes I was hesitant at first too, mainly by the price. I didn't want to pay a lot of money for a model that didn't go together, being JC Wings. But boy am I happily surprised, this thing despite being fiddly as f#$k went together really well. Assembling models needs to be done over white plastic sheets in the "your about to dispose of someone" kind of set up. I was a little unsure if I wanted to do the assembly on video, as my sausage fingers have a dexterity score of zero,haha. But if I can assemble it, anyone in the world can 😂 Hope you didn't lose your zero parts!!! Thanks for watching!!

Mandingo...that is by far the sexiest Prowler (the prototype) I've ever seen! The crew that painted that did an excellent job on it. I am mixed on the model. I like that there are options on how to set it up, but I'm not 100% blown away by the magnetic mounting system. Where the magnets lose me is on the under-wing/under-belly ordinance, simply because those pieces can be misaligned even when securely attached. I do like magnetic mounts when the pieces have pockets to sit in, like the landing gear 👍. I really am very impressed by the paint inside the wings and by the paint work overall. And at 5:41...you said exactly what I was thinking...it looks like a plane in the boneyard. So, there is also the boneyard option as a way to "kit it out" as you say. This is quite a model and I'm glad you got one and shared it with us. 🤠👍
@heavymetaldiecast
@heavymetaldiecast Күн бұрын
Oh for sure this livery is dam fine!! The magnet strength was fairly good, I probably didn't help with the ordnance with my sausage fingers not working and the tank kept misaligning so dont hold that too much against it. Although they are probably the things that are easiest to knock off as they don't settle into a location, they just sit there flush via the magnet so can be easily knocked. But that said its a 2 second job to put them back in place. But yes there is so much going on with this model so it may be a little too much for some. You do have the Hobby Master option if you want one with less moving bits,haha I have done the video on that awhile ago Ill chuck a link just incase you haven't seen that one. Honestly it would be hard for companies to make a 100% perfect model and make it affordable for the average person/collector. We just hope they can get them as close as possible and keep the pricing realistic. Thats the way I look at it. But yeah not many are doing new aircraft types!! So many Italian WW2 aircraft that could be done, as well as French and Russian WW2. You can get some done by cheap manufacturers but none of the bigger quality makers seem to be tooling up many new aircraft. They just churn out same birds with different liveries!! @@heavymetaldiecast Calibre Wings models are good, but I don't like their price. It's too high, especially when compared to the quality. @@heavymetaldiecast Well, the prices in Australia are really high. They are also high in Germany and Switzerland. But when I search, I find them very cheap. Sometimes it seems like I'm stealing from people... Especially if it's an HM model that's missing a part. So I order the missing parts, and it's like new. One way or another, but it's an expensive hobby of ours... And as for manufacturers, the situation has been really complicated lately. Everything that's being produced is basically old models, just in different colors. Although there are really endless models that we miss, and which collectors would definitely buy. I really wanted Dragon Wing and Gemini Aces to return to the market. That would create more competition. Of course, Panzerkampf started producing quite a few models, but as far as I've noticed, their LEGION line is just a copy of other models. At least the P-51B, as far as I can see, was copied from Gemini, and the Fw-190 is a pure Amercom model. Although very nicely painted. And the B-2, that would be nice to have in the collection. It would be better if HM made it. After all, their F-22 and F-117 are simply great...

Have both types on display at the moment and looking at em! DW P47D's have more detail, alert signs, cockpit detail. But there can be issues with droopy props, ill fitting aerials, and I would advise against fitting the drop tanks as you run a real risk of breaking off the sway braces. Corgi models are very decent and have none of these issues and can be displayed pretty much out of the box. Both are good to have IMO. Missed this one too and cannot find it. Ah well........
