Great video as usual. Note to others, this video assumes the firewall entries are blank. If you have the default recommended firewall in place, you will face the following issues. First issue and solution: http 404 error to accessing user manager. I added the "bridge.hotspot" bridge to the "LAN" address list (in interface list) to resolve this issue. Second issue and solution: RADIUS server not connected when logging in to hotspot. I added firewall rule accept source address 127.0.0.0/24 in input chain.

Thanks! First time I've gotten hotspot to work under MikroTik. I had to add a rule to my INPUT firewall chain to permit connections from 127.0.0.1 at the top of my firewall list before it would connect to the local radius server.

Hie, thanks a lot for this I was following your tutorial applying configurations on mikrotik wap lte kit 1 rbwapr-2nd-lte, however, after rebooting when I was trying to access the userman manager profile the router started failing to reconnect to winbox. I tried to reset it and I am failing to get into the router. Initially I was to use this the LAN to give internet access to another access point.

Great video. Thank you. Although on firmware version 6.44.3 got an error: 'Radius server is not responding' on logging. If you have same issue - add firewall rule: 'chain: input, src-address: 127.0.0.0/24, action: accept' and put to the top.

Just connect the AP to the Ethernet interface in the bridge for the HOTSPOT service.

You can use any interface whatever You need, e.g. VLAN, if Your AP is connected to another switch in Your network.

From the list above it seems that the cAP ac access point will not work for this tutorial as expected, right ? The issue here is that the SSID is being displayed ok, but the iphone keeps trying to connect with the identification "No Internet connection". Stuck at the point where you are suggesting to call in the browser the `192.168.6.1/userman`. I suppose you call this to a device (mobile phone or laptop) *after* you have connected to the SSID (for example here "Hotspot"), is this assumption correct ?

Hi, i am attempting to do the following, Setup a MikroRik router( wAP series) with Hotspot captive portal for events. (not connected to power or computer) Will be using solar power. Now I need to setup a Free Hotspot that requires a user to tick a box ( custom look and feel landing page) to get free data, 500megs or 30 min free whichever comes first. I use mikrotik router for client management but would also like to advertise my facebook, twitter pages and websites through mikrotik. I have able to do the same with the HOTSPOT MODE but I use STATIC MODE and don't feel like reverting to the hotspot only for this reason. hello sir as i have download user manager and created user with limitation profile of 256k. but it is not limiting speed upto 256k. it is usimg more than its limit. as i have connected one extra switch from one of port to nanostationM2 for sender AP. either the speed is not limiting in wifi nor in connecting to nanostation ssid

Best way to trouble these issues is to disable your mangle rules and queues, then test the hotspot without limitation. If this works enable limitation then test again. Do this until you are able to detect the issue.
