I love that you love those curls and rock them with so much confidence. My hair is naturally like that and for my whole life I have spent so much time straightening it. I've even gone as far as shaving my head twice because I hated my curls so much. You have made me embrace my curls and given me so many out of the box ways to wear my hair especially now that it's shorter because I had to cut it to grow out the sides from having a long (to my butt) Mohawk for years. I have lupus and recently had to get a hysterectomy and one or both of those has caused my hair to fall out and thin really bad so I needed to grow it all out to add volume back. Thanks for helping me see the beauty in my curls.

I'm really kind of excited and wanted to tell you about these new (to me) hair pins that have a flocked covering on them that really stick to your hair. I ordered them off of Amazon and they're called "Frenchies." They cost $13.95 for 20 of them; two sizes, long and short - 10 of each. I just received them today and so far, so very good. My hair is not quite shoulder length but in the summertime I absolutely have to get my hair off my neck and I think this is going to be good for that stability I need without bobby pins, which tend to slip right out of my straight hair. I also recently bought a Clipdini from Walmart and have high hopes for that little contraption. Just wanted to share this with you, my favorite and talented hair guru. 💜

Using the correct bobby pin is definitely a must! I have ridiculously thick hair, even though it doesn't look like it. And I would have to use countless number of the medium bobby pins if I wanted to have the smallest chance of an updo lasting through at least a few hours. Then I discovered the magic of the jumbo pins! lol. But seriously, those are really big and sturdy and made for thick hair, and they hold mine up like nothing else ever has! I've never looked back! :)

Milabu, you completely changed my view of bobby pins! I hate bobby pins, well, I used to hate them but now i can see their purpose. Thanks for the info! I went to beauty school and the only thing I was taught about bobby pins was to put them ridges down and NEVER open them. Psshhh... that didn't help. You need to offer a Pins 101 class! 😁❤ I'm going to get me some quality pins and give it another go.

I loved this video. I have always had a hate-hate relationship with bobby pins. I learned just recently to put the ridged side down. What a difference. The latest problem I have with bobby pins is I have an awful time finding silver/grey pins. You would think with the trend of young people coloring their hair grey and older women more than ever, letting the grey naturally grow out, finding silver pins would be easy. Just last week I shopped at both Sally's Beauty and Ulta and both places told me they can't get them. Frustrating to say the least. I can't wait to try some of the other tricks you demonstrated. And I'm going to share this with my grand-daughter who keeps the bobby pin companies in business. The more pins that stay in the hair, and not on my floors, tub and just about every place else you can imagine the happier we both will be.

I love that you say common mistake FOR ME, some tips I already knew, so to me it makes a difference. You recently became one of my fave youtubers, well because I now have short hair, little inspiration, I love your creativity. Keep it up! Little Bobby pin tip from me, or suggestion, when I want to hide my bobby pin, for example to secure a Tiny french braid, i do the same as you, only I slide my Bobby pin to the front into my braid, so the side of the pin is against your scalp and not the flat or rigged side if that makes sense, I hope it does :p. Awesome video!

Can you also talk about just regular hair pins. I'm talking about the ones that are open, and don't actually clamp down on the hair. What are those used for? Also do you think the color of the bobby pins matter? I just love your channel, you have some of the best hair tips I have seen!!

Starla Suzanne Rutan I think, depending on the style you are going for, that you should get bobby pins that match your hair color. Especially if you are going to be using them to disguise your 'mistakes'.
