Singer MILCK and vocal groups GW Sirens and Capital Blend, who went viral with their performance at the Women's March, joined us for a special performance of their anthem "Quiet."
Lyrics:
put on your face
know your place
shut up and smile
don’t spread your legs
I could do that
But no one knows me no one ever will
if I don’t say something, if I just lie still
Would I be that monster, scare them all away
If I let the-em hear what I have to say
I can’t keep quiet, no oh oh oh oh oh oh
I can’t keep quiet, no oh oh oh oh oh oh
A one woman riot, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
I can’t keep quiet
For anyone
Anymore
Cuz no one knows me no one ever will
if I don’t say something, take that dry blue pill
they may see that monster, they may run away
But I have to do this, do it anyway
I can’t keep quiet, no oh oh oh oh oh oh
I can’t keep quiet, no oh oh oh oh oh oh
A one woman riot, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh I can’t keep quiet
Let it out Let it out
Let it out now
There’ll be someone who understands
Let it out Let it out
Let it out now
Must be someone who’ll understand
Let it out Let it out
Let it out now
There’ll be someone who understands
Let it out Let it out
Let it out now
I can’t keep quiet

Don't be quiet. Resist. One woman riot at a time. In a tiny village in Nova Scotia a group of about 15 women got together to walk the side of the highway. Because they had to. Resist.

Keep trying. It's there, unless you're somewhere where it's not available. You can even go to her site (just Google Milck) and download the song for free. There is a "tip jar" where you can tip if you'd like, but the download only requires you to sign up. I plan on going back and giving a tip when I'm more financially stable. I want more music from this amazing singer. Quiet is so beautiful and Devil Devil (her other song) is also really amazing. I'm so glad that Samantha Bee had her on the show so I could find out about her now!

I've been struggling with feelings of utter sadness and helplessness for the past few days, in fact from the very moment Trump won the US election. I'll be honest, I haven't been this emotional in years, and I could no longer see US as the country of my dreams for which I had worked so hard for. However, listening to this song on loop while reading about the actions of people against MuslimBan, has given me some hope for the future. Be it people protesting on Airports, ACLU standing up for the refugees and getting a stay order from the court, Academic Community (including Nobel Laureates) signing petitions, CEOs of big tech companies taking stand, people uninstalling Uber for their anti-protest stance, or devout Christians offering to convert to Islam to protest. I'm not very sure how far these actions will go in actually making a practical difference, but I just want to let my Muslim brothers know that you are not alone, and we'll do whatever we can to take a stand for you! :')

I, a 15 year old white male, thought this was beautiful. I strongly support every protest going on. I attended the women's march in my city with my girlfriend and I have to say it was very powerful. Seeing everybody come together and protest for something as serious as this, is just phenomenal. At least some people have brains, unlike our president and his supporters.

Kelly let me explain why people like me get angry at these videos. I have no problem with woman fighting for injustice but all I see from western women is cowardly narcissistic virtue signalling that helps no one but themselves. When I see a strong woman who stands up against Islam and then has to live under constant fear of being murdered my heart goes out to her. My heart doesn't go out to western women who have every privilege and right in the world and are complaining about things like manspreading.

Who's Martha?! Bob's relationship with women was complicated, to say the least. His treatment was definitely influenced by his Rastafarianism, which sees women as mothers and wives first but then he had a relationship Cindy Breakspeare who was in no way a kept women. But I'm getting off the point which is that I think what OP was referring to is Bob's politically conscious songs and his activism through his music.
