I just was told I had mild mitral regurgitation only found on the Echo not on the EKG. My doctor said my heart is functioning normally and just to look out for symptoms and the finding was not serious. I did make a follow-up appointment in two years. @@rameshkrishnanr5106 Hi, my echo results says TV Fibrosis on leafletsRV pressure gradient of 15mmHg, and MT lots of Nodular Fibrosis on the leaflets, very trivial MR on flow studies, Diastolic peak gradient of 2.76mmHg. Summary says significant Nodular Fibrosis on the mitral with Trivial MR ans the Cardic Physiology assured me of Mild mitral regurations. May I please have clarity should I worry or go for further test.

If it’s mild now it will get worse in time. This is 1 of the reasons why people have arrhythmia as well and symptoms of dizziness, tiredness etc. It must be treatment asap surgically. If you leave it and it gets worse you will cause irreversible heart damage which will eventually GET YOU.

If you have mild leaky valves (with symptoms such as arrythmia, shortness of breath..etc), and you just 'wait and see' - and monitor that the leaking does not get worse - then great! But from what some patients are saying here, just 'waiting and seeing' seem to actually allow their condition to worsen. I suppose the debate here is, do you have surgery to repair your valves nice and early.. or do you wait for the affected valves to become really bad (possibly with an enlarged heart and cords too) before having surgery? I can't think of anything worse than 'waiting' as per a doctors advice, only to find your condition has deteriorated 4-5 down the line, because nothing was done to help the situation.

@d Baruah must improved, started meditation and became accepting over my health in recent weeks. Few tips for me personal was exercise, meditation, accepting, good diet, ginger, lemon and garlic. Green tea, and lemon water with apple cider vinegar.

Hey doc your videos are really helpful for me as far as relieving my anxiety about this kind of thing but I have a question, I was having palpitations a few weeks ago and went to the doctor and had bloodwork done, they said my potassium levels were at 3.3 and the normal is 3.5 to 4.2 and I was wondering would that be low enough to trigger Pvc's and Pac's? I've had these for almost two years but they still terrify me when I have them.

I had my aortic value replaced in 1982. Mechanical valve. I have a-fib, but controlled by medication. Past 6 months I have noticed a lot of issues. Went on vacation in Sept. could not do a lot of walking, very tried and trouble climbing stairs. Now I am having shortness of breath, heaviness in my chest and fatigue. I cannot even walk to mailbox, sweep floor etc. without breathing hard. I had stress test done in Feb of 22, showed mild reg of mitral and aortic valve. What’s going on?

Hi Dr. Gupta! I have a question for you- I am a 25 year old female with no family history of sudden death or heart problems. I've been experiencing palpitations for about 5 years now, and I usually have at least a handful a day. I went through an extremely stressful situation in the past 3 months, and they have gotten SO much more frequent. I feel at least 100 a day, possibly more. I don't get lightheaded with them. I went to the cardiologist and had normal blood work, ekg, and chest x-ray. A few months prior, I had a 30-day event monitor that came back completely normal, except for pvcs, which the doctor was not concerned about. Should I be really worried? The doctors don't seem concerned, but I am anxious and I know that's not helping! :(

I have 3 mild valves that leaks. But all the ventricles etc is normal. Should I not to worry? I used to see my cardiologist once a year than twice a year and now he wants to see me every 5 years. Is it a good sign right? But Im still worried
