Is there a way to go from the airport to the bib pickup at the expo and to Kurfurstendam where I'm staying in one go, or should I just try to get from BER to the hotel and then do the expo the next day? Would be nice to be done with the expo as soon as possible, ie. Friday evening. Thanks.

@@tkoppis Yeah, definitely! I don't know where you're staying in Kurfürstendamm, but Tempelhofer Feld (where the expo is) is geographically in between Ku'Damm and the airport. Google Maps directions will get you where you need to go. Have fun!

Thanks a lot for the video! How much earlier to the start should I be in the starting area? Is an hour enough to pee and drop off my bag and just find my way around? I am so nervous, gonna run on Sunday as well 😍

Glad it was helpful AND that you got in! Besides near the start, you could look to see if you can find something cheaper that’s a few stops away from the start via the S-Bahn.

I’m staying at premier inn Wilmersdorf. You think I’d also be better just heading towards hauptbanhopf and walking from there much like yourself?

Yep! It’s not a bad walk at all and you can use it as a warmup, hitting up some of the toilets on the way out to get out those nervous pees (or otherwise 💩🤓)

Looking for more bathroom tips during the race!? Are there Porta potty’s at the water stations as well? The course map doesn’t say! Also are there maps for spectators with U-Bahn stops to follow our runner?

Yeah, you’ll find options through the race. No maps that I’m aware of telling you where spectators should take the U-Bahn to watch. But it’s pretty easy to figure out using Google maps. Have a great race!

According to the official website of the Berlin marathon, headphones are not allowed. I’ve run it twice with just one earbud in and have not had any problems though. Couldn’t imagine running without my playlist.

I got in using the lottery. I did not expect to get in, but here we are, a month away. I do have a question though , how is the elevation increase between 25-30 km? Im aiming for a sub 4:30 time, still struggled a bit with my marathon training here in Portland, OR, as it’s not entirely flat and elevation going a few bridges is a leg killer here after mile 19-20

Congrats! It's a fantastic race. You'll love it. Hmmm... I don't remember at any point experiencing a perceptible increase in elevation. Berlin is a world-record favorite of marathoners because it's so flat. I wouldn't worry too much about it!

Yes, I think an adress in Berlin helps. I’ve got in three out of three times via the lottery with a local adress (and I’ve heard similar stories from my neighbours)

There is a lot of people who think that it’s just their 10K time times 4, which make them end up in the wrong coral sadly 🙈 but I don’t think that Berlin is to bad again in that regards, compared with the ones I have done in the states where “marathon walkers” enter a time at registration to put in carol B and insist to walk on the middle of the road 🙈😂 But I acknowledge the problem and I do think it’s bigger at the majors, but I have seen at all the marathons I have been a part of 👌

I think the problem is nobody verifies the time you project as long as you dont put an elite time
