and whats so amazing is he easily could've continued playing bop from the 40's and 50's....but here he is .. a 43 year old established jazz legend, and he's fully embracing electronic music and incorporating rock and funk and all other styles of music to literally create a totally new style of music. Legend is an understatement!!!!!!

I keep trying to get I to Jazz every so often and then hear something like this. Those cymbals are just horrid sounding, cheap like a kids drum set and crashing all over the other music. Then the sax at 4:30 ish makes me wonder if they are taking the p****. It is like a nightmare and absolute relief when switched off. I love so many types of music and hate people stay pigeon holed in genres but jazz like this not only eludes me but could push a man to the edge lol. Good for you who enjoy or at least pretend. Oh good lord, just hearing the keyboard bit at 8:15 ish. My nan can play better and with a nice tune, she' been dead 2 decades :)

I think you need to understand the context of the period this was recorded. The free jazz that chick, Dave and Jack were playing together …. They were pushing boundaries and not every moment is golden but … BUT the comment about your Nan is just plain ignorant. You may not appreciate the music these guys were playing at this time but if you knew anything you would know that each of them was already an established master of their instrument. Each one of these musicians has become a legend in jazz and in the case of Miles and Wayne, the entire spectrum of music
