When Goose played this song on the piano in the movie, his son was sitting on the lid of the piano. It would have been one of Rooster's last happy memories of his Dad. My wife who can't stand to leave the house to go to the movies went for the figure of Tom Cruise and loved it too. Top Gun: Maverick" proved that cinema doesn't have to be aimed at a single audience, it doesn't belong to a single "tribe". Teens, adults and seniors can enjoy the same experience, without needing a manual. It's been a while since I've seen so many people of different ages at the theater watching the same movie, I believe since the 90s maybe. After growing up with the Spider-Man movies, MCU, Transformers and everything else us 2000s kid had its nice to see a movie be so damn good. I didn't see Tom Cruise no I saw Maverick. Everything and everyone worked really well together. I got choked up during this scene and when Ice died. It felt like I was right there in the middle. This is what a movie should be. An experience like no other 10/10 will watch again.
