Deception was definitely my favorite of the trilogy of this console generation. I spent so much time playing Konquest, and trying to unlock everything in the Krypt. Also, I had a feeling their first opponent in Arcade would be Sindel, and that she do a Hara Kiri. It happened to me a lot 😂.

Eh I prefer Armageddon's conquest mode more because it plays very similar to Shoulin Monks but shorter. Deception's conquest mode feels like a "Fetch quest" to me but I love the fight challanges they have and the exploration of the realms.

I actually liked Onaga as a character. He's the only dragon in a game who's logo is literally a dragon. And he provided some lore to the realms of Mortal Kombat because for such a varied multiverse, there's a significant lack of any lore beyond "Everyone gathers to fight for some reason."

Deception and Armageddon were the pinnacle of the MK series for me. So much content to do, both in terms of fighting and other shit. They were both just fun games that did not take themselves very seriously. Stuff like chest, tetris, and even fucking cart racing just gave you so much to do that I always found my way to playing the games, even if I did not feel like fighting at the time. While 9 was a good return to form, it just did not have a lot of content and X was just as bad. I fear 11 will also be void of a lot of content and will have to wait for dlc. Oh, and Jade that the best look in Deception. Both her normal and alt costumes are GODLIKE!

THIS STILL MIGHT BE THE BEST MORTAL KOMBAT GAME OF ALL TIME! The amount of content is fantastic. The ONLY bad thing in this game was that the new characters weren't very good, but everything else was perfect. It's between Deception and MK9 for me. Deception had a great story with a huge konquest mode, awesome chess and puzzle kombat, stage fatalities, cool classic characters like NOOB Smoke, and the krypt. It's a near perfect MK game, and I put too many hours into it back in the day.

Despite these games looking janky now. At the time, they were fantastic, at least Deadly Alliance and Deception. Deception's story mode was ambitious to say the least, and genuinely fun to explore, alongside giving you more and more reason to like Shujinko who was a character in a series bereft of any real characterization up to that point. Idk, I've got a soft spot for this game and all its wacky ideas.

Hear me out here, Zombie Lui-Kang was dope for the fact that he had those awesome chains around his arms (how the fuck they got there, no one will know). Not only that, but you technically can't even kill him unless you fatalize him. Zombie Lui-Kang is the best mistake that came from MK Deception, and he is what Drahmin should've been from the beginning.
