I medically want one! Lol. I'm purchasing one. I have a few small analog synth and this would be perfect for creating the scene and then just improvise around it. I like the ability to change keys and really set up your scene the way you want it.

I just got mine 2 weeks ago. It did not impress straight out the box. While waiting for Zzounds to respond with my request to return it, I played it every night before bed. I canceled the return request. It’s a keeper. It has that ambient sound I’m looking for R&B. I think it would go great with cinema music producers. Excellent for creating sound FX for any occasion.

In love with this synth. Got any scenes or presets to share? :] Also you don't need to go into grid to change octaves. Just hold down one (or more for combos) of the synth buttons below the screen and while holding turn the main encoder by the screen to change octaves. You can also do this with the C1, C2, C3 knobs as well. Hold one or more buttons below the screen and turn one of those knobs to control more than 1 synth at a time.

While i'm not a fan of the sound (you know, typical thin high-resy RPI sound) BUT the price and the visual style is everything here. Also i'ma big fan of the colour pads (after long years with Launchpads i play on pads better than on regular keyboard) and for sure i'm gonna play the hell out of this pad keyboard! It's like a dream come true! I will absolutely use it as a controller for my analog synthesizers. This one is a must buy for me. Props to Poly dudes not making in 899 or something. Also once again best presentation on YT coz of the good music you make! Thanks bro

I used this live recently. loading scenes on the fly was very nice. I just named them _01... etc to put them at the top of the list, building a setlist. Sounded great live.
@devinbelangermusicАй бұрын
right on! I bet this would be fantastic for live performance. Did you make use of the note/part follow modes?
@NickGunzburgАй бұрын
@@devinbelangermusic i did. i mostly used the layout that had the one row at the bottom, and used that for the chords. I made custom chord packs. Arp on each synth most of the time.

@nickgunzburg Curious as to whether you paired this with a drum machine in your live set ?
@NickGunzburgАй бұрын
@@lawrencedb I used a flesh drummer… I usually use a Torso T1 and a 1010 Tangerine for drums, which I’m hoping to try with the Synth soon.

oh, and one more thing, I think the Polyend Synth will be my next hardware synth, I see they already have poly after touch, I do hope they add MPE support so MPE midi controllers can work their magic with it, but maybe that goes against what this is, so what do I know haha

Really great video. As a Synth owner, I'd really like to know how you made some of those jams. You either created or found an amazing brass lead sound. Where did you find that? I'm all about brass and strings. I find much of the synth engines/presets too lo-fi for my tastes. Love the arps/sequences you created!
@devinbelangermusicАй бұрын
Thank you! I can't remember if I made that one or tweaked a preset , but VAP is the one for brassy leads. Bladerunner preset is a great start, but if you make your own, its all about detuning saw waves and then getting the envelopes right (medium attack, long decay, long release)
@MikeFelkerVideosАй бұрын
The second or third jam that you show on your video has the best arpeggiated playing I've seen on the Polyend synth. I'd love for you to create a step-by-step video on how you created that arpeggiated rhythm

Dude, I just searched on "which dawless gear is most fun", and Miles Away thankgoodness comes up first! FYI, I am re-reading The Inner Game of Tennis for about the fifth time. Discipline and following instructions matters, BUT if you can't retain interest -- or have FUN making music -- it's not worth it in the long run.
@devinbelangermusicАй бұрын
@@joegrant413 love that analogy! I think that makes SO much sense. I started this channel to combat burnout from my main music work, and it’s really kept me going playing synths and doing the random ambient adventures. Super interesting to hear evidence backs that idea up. Fun ftw

I love Polyend and I would love to buy this but, I'm worried they will bring a plus version out in about 10 months.
@devinbelangermusicАй бұрын
I actually think this is pretty safe from being plug-in-ified, because the Synth is 100% all about the performance UI with the grid pads and key/note follow. The sound is good but not that special . It’s all about how you play it
