What a great demo, thank you. I can hear with your patches the synthesis of my two best synth the CS80 and the OBX, creamy,plenty,dark wtih the good balance in between the bass the medium and the high freqs in one sound. Don't need another sound in the track ha ha ha some sounds remind me the Com Truise enormous pads. Very cool.

Absolutely gorgeous sounds! Would you recommend this or a Prophet 5/10 desktop??
@MilesAwayOfficial

Thank you! That's a hard one, I don't own a P5/10 but I really want one. I would say this is more like a Moog Poly, as the filter is a ladder. I compared it to the P6 recently, check that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5eyg3pvor2YkKMsi=fAVzNquKTztwhzwq

Thanks! I mention in description, some gentle big sky reverb since E7 does not have built in verb

Maybe it's a silly question/comparison, but: Would it make sense to describe the E7 as a Nymphes on steroids? The E7 seems to have a similarly vibe-y raw sound like the Nymphes or vice versa. I got a Nymphes, also because of your video about it, and I love its sound (though not its UI).
@MilesAwayOfficial
@MilesAwayOfficial 2 ай бұрын
Great assessment! They really are similar in terms of wild sound, but the filter is different. I actually prefer the Nymphes filter tbh, but I agree you can't beat a knob per function workflow. Probably safe you would like this if you like Nymphes.
@stefanherzog
@stefanherzog 2 ай бұрын
@@MilesAwayOfficial thanks for your thoughts on this! Tradeoffs, tradeoffs... Better filter, more modulation options (?), very compact/portable, cheaper, ... vs. one more voice, much better UI, stereo goodness, multitimbral, ... How do you find using the two? Or, which do you use more for what? Will you keep the Nymphes just for the filter? I've been contemplating getting an Electra One controller for the Nymphes (and other gear) that would get me closer to knob per function.

How would you say this compares to the OB-X8?
@MilesAwayOfficial
@MilesAwayOfficial 5 ай бұрын
Great question. Both are the two most wild/raw sounding polysynths I own. OBX8 filter and envelopes are more pretty and well tuned, whereas the GS E7 is more finnicky but has a real mojo and genuine vintage vibe to it. I'd say that the E7 could be the perfect all arounder synth as long as you really like the vintage tone and don't mind unprecise filter tracking, whereas the OBX8 really wants to do Oberheim stuff but can do it flawlessly, either vintage OB sounds or more modern OB sounds. I use both about equally, but I use my OB-6 more than both.
@MrAndyZhu
@MrAndyZhu 5 ай бұрын
@@MilesAwayOfficial Thanks for that info. I currently own the OB-X8 and also really love the sounds coming from this E7 but wasn't sure if it would be too identical sonically. My guess is that I wouldn't be missing out too much without the E7. Love your work btw!
@MilesAwayOfficial
@MilesAwayOfficial 5 ай бұрын
@@MrAndyZhuthank you! Yea they aren’t the same but they aren’t leagues apart either. Check out the 3rd Wave if you want something really different from your X8. It’s expensive but it’s my fave synth of the last several years

This or Prologue? Which does 80s pads and stabs better?
@MilesAwayOfficial
@MilesAwayOfficial 18 күн бұрын
This sounds better in terms of raw tone, but Prologue has a more unique palette with the digital osc into the MS20 style filter. This is like nostalgic 80s, Prologue is like dystopian 80s. If you want classic tones I'd get this

@MilesAwayOfficial
@MilesAwayOfficial 2 ай бұрын
@@joshtackett its my absolute fave VST reverb, sounds 100% like the pedal. I just throw cloud on anything in my projects other than short decay stuff where I'll use IRs or UAD Capital Chambers. For hardware I like the MerisX the most right now, but I've got a Big Sky MX on the way, so maybe that will change.
