Thank you fir sharing another excellent airport tour👍and I like that it's 10+ minutes. I'd gladly watch all your walked video coverage at regular speed (with vlog music playing or even without). I like Slow TV. I like your product!

I'd encourage that notion. Airport interiors make for excellent Slow TV-style blog fodder.

This is one of the few airlines I don’t mind having long layovers in. Nice shops, excellent places to eat, pet friendly, simple to connect in.

Good job. Other airports that I have traveled in and out of, you have to take escalators to baggage claim and for ground transportation you have to go up, walk over a bridge to the other side before you get a taxi, with BWI you get off a plane and on same level you walk out to baggage claim and walk out to ground transportation on same level, it's an easy and convenient airport to get in and out of.

Because of nearby family and frequent family trips to DC, BWI's one of my most visited destination airports, and I agree with you!

Baltimore city is, unfortunately, blighted and crime-ridden across many hundreds of square miles, so stay on the path whenever you visit there. Most of the touristy areas are safe.

The inner harbor is really great. Baltimore has some bad spots, but all of the suburbs outside of B'more are great. This comes from a teen who's lived near Baltimore for 13 years.

Being from moco we’re equidistant between bwi amd Dulles and 9/10 times we’re going to bwi. When we’re flying out I find Wes mores announcement to be the most annoying thing because I’ve heard it dozens of time but when I land at MCO or FLL I miss his voice and those sweet restrooms that come with it so much.

BWI is the only commercial airport mainly serving Baltimore, but also serves DC as a secondary and is one of 3 commercial airports serving the Balt-Wash CSA. It is way younger than DCA in terms of age and is older than Dulles.
@MilesByFoot Жыл бұрын
DCA is the oldest commercial airport in the DC area that we still use, built in the early 40s. Parts of the original terminal are still in use. It's about 10 years older than BWI. Baltimore, in turn, is about 10 years older than Dulles, which was built to relieve traffic from the other two in the early 60s.
@CrystalClearWith8BE Жыл бұрын
@@MilesByFoot, will you do more airport tours in the US? I was thinking you can tour guide some in the Eastern US such as Dulles, Atlanta and 3 airports serving NYC. What do you think?
@CrystalClearWith8BE Жыл бұрын
I edited my comment about the age of BWI because in the original form of the comment, I got mixed up again. DCA existed since the '40s, BWI existed since the '50s and Dulles existed since the '60s.
@CrystalClearWith8BE Жыл бұрын
@@MilesByFoot, didn't you know, before the existance of BWI, there was an airport in Baltimore and Dundalk, MD called the Baltimore Municipal Airport, but that was mostly for military purposes because of the USAF. It was constructed from 1929 to 1941. It was later closed on December 30, 1960 and was then demolished and replaced with parking lots and a harbour.

BWI is not the busiest airport in the capitol region. Both Regean and Dulles have higher throughput. Also, don't get on that light rail unless you want to get mugged.
@MilesByFoot3 жыл бұрын
While there are a number of ways to measure traffic, I use enplanements. In 2020, BWI was 22nd nationally in passenger enplanements; IAD was 28th, and DCA was 30th according to the FAA.

@@MilesByFoot While Reagan National is closest to me (and the same applies to a lot of greater DC proper), to be honest, I would rather fly out of Marshall BWI compared to Reagan National.

I have been on the light rail many times and the worst thing that has happened was i forgot something on the tram. It's mainly used for people heading to Ravens and Orioles games at Camden yards.

@@Marylandbrony Yeeeah. People give the Light Rail a bad rap but it’s generally fine. Some cars don’t smell the best, sure, but it predominantly serves a more up-class corridor with some suburban service.
