We have the XC90 Recharge from 2021, and in my opinion it looks far better than the competition from Audi, Mercedes or BMW. It has a classic, understated, elegant and simple design while the GLE looks like a GLC with an added trunk compartment and BMW's have become almost too flashy for me. Especially the side profile of the XC90 is beautiful.

None of these 3 brands compete with Volvo, Volvo competes with Mazda and cheaper brands, in the US also with Acura and VW Atlas and Jeep and Buick.

The car industry and its reviewers are just interested in “new” for the sake of being new and not looking at car design as design. Good design is good design regardless of it being changed or new. There are specific measurements of design and form language that designers spend years to learn and develop skill. So yes this Volvo will always be considered good design. Stop evaluating design based off if it’s new for the sake of consuming. Cars are not iPhones! We shouldn’t have a new one each year!

This. This is exactly how I felt about the automotive industry for about 2 years or so. Even renamed manufacturers like Mercedes feel like the change in their design makes them look cheap and more prone to time aging. Ofcourse I’m using Mercedes as an example but many manufacturers have fell for this.

The intro when you went round that corner, this has to be one of the closest cars to that curb, it understeered quite a lot from the looks of it. Great video!! I love your videos of cars that are more global (personal preference) as here in the UK, some of the cars are different to what are sold in the us
@MilesPerHr

The understeer was very pronounced. It definitely told me that Volvo isn't focusing on handling with the XC90. It's plenty quick in a straight line, it looks fantastic, and feels well built, but it's no performance SUV.

@@MilesPerHr That’s true, it hasn’t dated much either I think. Out of curiosity, in terms of comfort, what would you say is the comfiest car to cruise in that’s around/ under $60,000 that you’ve driven?
@benjaminsmith2287
@benjaminsmith2287 Жыл бұрын
@@MilesPerHr No. There are Polestar XC60s if you want a performance Volvo. Or just get a Polestar 3 or 4 when they become available if you want a BEV and still want something in the Volvo family.

Not really due to quality issues that’s been happening since it came out and have not ever been addressed to date. Maybe just the fan blowing for no reason but that wasn’t really the serious of all problems

For me the XC90 is the best-aged SUV that is currently on the market. From the outside you would not think that apart from a briefly changed Grill that the car is unchanged since early 2015. Still looking georgious

It looks fine but it is showing its age, IMO. The interior, especially the software/screens/dashboard area shows its age.

Hi, appreciate the review. In pure electric mode, does the ac runs normally when parked? And how long roughly does it take to recharge the batteries to full cpacity whilst driving in engine mode? Thanks👍

@yaseentv1078 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the A/C runs when on pure & hybrid modes off the battery pack even when parked. Self charging depends on the speed the car is travelling on but its most quickest when on motorway (may be 40 miles) to charge from empty

My biggest problem with this plug-in XC90 are the default tires of 275 width and only 40 aspect ratio. I'm sure it looks more attractive, but it would break on long trips for any off-road and non-perfect roads. Volvo, like other "prestige cars" manufacturers, is going for young boys "looks factor", with tires made for drivers who like to play "chicken" on regular roads or race track or beat the yellow to red light turn from quarter mile away. The tires and wheel are the most important ingredient of a car and getting 21" tires with aspect ratio of 40 and high speed rating will not provide a comfortable, durable and maintanence free drive for people who like to drive through minor off-track roads or long distance driving on non-perfect conditions and roads. I would buy this vehicle in a second, if I could get 20" tires with aspect ratio of 50 (for 265+ width). I currently have two vehicles with 19", 50 aspect ratio ( ML 250 bluetec and BMW X5), have driven both for over 100K with zero tires/ wheel issue, including many off-road miles for my hikes and mountain climbing and can easily go over 100 mph and take any turns/cornening in regular and wet/snow. Otherwise, this is the perfect vehicle. I love the Bower/Wilkins system and the smaller dashboard screens (as one can just get ultra clear resolution tablets with capacity to hold over 10,000 hours of videos/music and put it anywhere in the car for less than $300 anyway). Love the HUD, as HUD provides all the info one would need for 99.99% of the driving need and absolutely love the mpg. Can't we just make a vehicle for people who drive over 20K/year and just want a great audio system, pano roof and comfortable ride with 400+ HP without having screens with info that won't be used for even a second of driving or speed/cornering potential that no current roads/laws support? Why are manufacturers catering to the NASCAR wannabees with the exhaust sound that can be heard from another zip code, sport seats and displays that just fatigues the eyes with 99.9% of useless information?

It can, it’s an actual luxury car and not designed in China unlike the premium aspiring Volvo which is losing sales in Europe ever since the European “design and development” centers became just for show and do nothing outside of China.

Old design now. I love and respect the XC90 but it was supposed to be replaced in 2021/2022. The new EX90 is electric only but it is a much more modern design. Since it is electric only, the XC90 has to keep going because the market isn't there for BEVs only yet for Volvo. Making the car a BEV will make for a quieter, smoother experience but with all of the downsides currently of a BEV.

I think it's a pretty big car for 1.70cm tall people. I think your height is above average. Also, how comfortable it is for people weighing 100 kg or more would be important information for a car review. we're just watching a video of what a thin and tall boy can do in this car. your review videos are fun, candid, but provide some incomplete information.

I can only offer feedback as someone of my height and body type. It would be pure conjecture to estimate how it would accommodate someone at 5'7" and 220 lbs (100kg).

Would get one second hand if it didn't have a unreliable engine setup ... too complicated... should have been a V8 or I6 .....as if its saving money being a complicated piece of trash after its out of warranty....also, if it was a bit wider and had a practical back seat set up..its a buy with all those fixes. I say buy with less complications vs more engineering complications that make it a hard vehicle to own long term. I mean it cost as much as those full sized and I swore these were a lot bigger in the past than they are now... with less complications... I rather get a unreliable Cadillac than this or better yet a reliable 3 row Honda Pilot... if the money was right in my bank account... LOL...Yeah, Honda Pilot is expensive but a lot better optioned for the price to me; also, for the longevity of use, there is a potentially higher reliability due to its less complication in the engineering. Which could mean, I can fix it in my home garage and maybe not brick the car like working on a Mercedes... change the breaks it no longer works... Mercedes.. LOL The stupidity of Mercedes with that... No one can work on their overly mass produced cars...as if they didn't think of second and third hand owners' cost of ownership after the depreciation for the first owner. That would have made their cars more so a buy second and third hand and potentially got them more customers for their mass produced cars. I mean why negate working on their cars if they produce huge sums of these cars... its stupidly over priced parts make it a hard buy later with the complications they sprinkled in, with the engineering, just to fix the car yourself...taking a 12 year old car into the dealers just to get fleeced ....LOL

Luke 8:43-48 43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. 45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
