Hey Ashley! For me It's easier to keep consistency while working with the head shape horizontal diagnal back and to control the weight as it moves up the head. You could def. do this haircut using vertical sections and get the same outcome. Just make sure your hand position is comfortable.

Amazing style! I qualified last year and do hair from home. A client of mine wants this exact style (not sure if I'll leave in the disconnection at the back, will have to see what she prefers!) Her hair has a pretty thick texture and is high in density. Would I use the same method as this? I wish I had been shown this technique in college. I usually struggle with this type of cut but I'm pretty sure I can nail it doing it this way! So thank you, from the bottom of my heart!! Xx

nice technique good haircut you should get the small yspark combs its the same company that makes the clips your using ,sassoon also carrys them you would get much better tension with the fine tooth side of there combs and sectioning would be easier,not picking your haircut just constructive critism but as your cutting the top watch your left elbow it drops,otherwise great haircut much better most out there

I'm in love with this haircut, but my hair is really short, like around 1/2 inch short, I'm growing it out, but I have to get it cut in early June for graduation. Question: I got to Great Clips to get my hair cut, do you think they could do this? Also, do you think my hair will be long enough to do this in June? Thank you very much! This video is so relaxing to watch. To the stylist: I love that you went with the angle point in the back because every time I think about wanting to chop my hair like this, that's exactly what I think about doing. What advice would you give about the hairline down to the neck? I thought about following that line, to a degree, and buzzing that hair below that line to follow through, so to speak, with the angle point at the top. It would just be a slight difference, but I think it would make all the difference in the style of the cut. I'm also interested in a more faded style for the sides and back as well. But I'm very indecisive. I have very thick hair. Edit: I'm also wondering if you do any work with straight razors. I really like the look of tight, clean lines that I see in all of these videos on KZbin and Facebook. I had my hair cut very short many years ago but the sides were too long, though I didn't realize at the time I didn't like it that way until this style started to become very popular. Then I thought back to that time and wished I had buzzed the sides shorter. It definitely would have made my mohawk look cooler! Where are you from? I insist you do my hair next. Kidding. Kind of. ;) To the model: This hairstyle looks absolutely fabulous on you. I'm sure you no longer have this style but you pull it off marvelously.
