@torridscene2 жыл бұрын
Very perceptive DC. While (most of) all the comments here are of the nature "this is great/surprising!," You have hit on why Miley is truly special: She really IS an old soul (your term - and so correct) -- she understands the songs she sings as only an old soul could; she IS the songs she performs; she lives and breathes music. Her singing is, in some instances, nearly unbelievably powerful. She can amplify emotion in a song -- the lyrics, the melody -- to such a point of intensity where her rendition eclipses the original--- Who else, in the last 30 years, has done this?
@peggygibbons4799 ай бұрын
Old soul my ass. She's a punk with a great voice and she has a LOT of growing up to do.She hasn't earned the RIGHT to sing this song by Queen Stevie.

Anyone who denies this is looking purely through rose colored glasses and they simply dont want to compare Miley Cyrus with the legendary Stevie Nicks, which is understandable, but even though it's Miley Cyrus, she has one hell of a voice and has the ability to effectively use it when she wants to, that's undeniable. @dread true nah she still has a bad rap for the Hannah Montana stuff. I still know people that think I'm childish for liking her
@mayaskie17844 жыл бұрын
dread true I agree with the oc, while she is very well known publicly due to her father and her former acting career, her skill is highly underrated. People judge her based on their personal dislike for pop and her image rather than her actual skill as a singer.
@mayaskie17844 жыл бұрын
dread true you don’t seem don’t understand what I said...You said that she isn’t underrated simply because she is famous but being well known has nothing to do with the fact that her skill is underrated. People generally don’t think that she can sing well when she actually can. To be underrated means to be underestimated in value. She is underrated as a singer.
@mayaskie17844 жыл бұрын
dread true so you didn’t read the reply where I broke down my response to prove that I understood you? Then you took the time to let me know, adding a dash a sarcasm because you thought it made your comment a valid contribution to the conversation (I thought we were having). I thought you might just care about art, sorry to interrupt your unsolicited advertising.

@jilldurham54985 жыл бұрын
Yes she does. I grew up listening to Stevie Nicks. The first version was by Fleetwood Mac though. Not Stevie Nicks. She did it during her solo career. But she first did it with the band Fleetwood Mac. I promise you. I know this for a fact and just looked it up also. I am 24 and know this. I grew up listening to Stevie Nicks and when she was in the band Fleetwood Mac.
@jilldurham54985 жыл бұрын
@@lillydugger6748 That's your opinion. She was on key the entire time. Yes Stevie Nicks has a better voice but she nailed it nonetheless.

I think I dissed this girl a lot early on. But I am happy to say I am WRONG! She has the capability and range to be one of the greats. This is a fantastic cover. Not dissimilar to Stevie herself, vocally.

I think the more she grows up, the more she matures, we'll get some great stuff from her. She definitely has a lot of talent. Nearly all artists were a bit crazy and pushed the fringes, then they mellowed down.

June, 2019 I see it differently...Those people in the audience went to see a professionally performed song. And Miley - any singer - Disrespects the song - by not knowing the lyrics and or; being prepared. I'd have sooner her not sing a song that she was not completely comfortable with . Being from the 70's ... She dishonored Stevie, by needing a "crib sheet".

Bryan Smith ... June, 2019 I’m great at Parties ! Maybe you could understand, if you grew up when this song was first popular !! And, we worked hard to afford a concert ticket... The performers worked equally hard to put on an AMAZING performance, because they were proud of what they created, and wanted to please the Audience. Different time, different values. But the music !! THAT “should “ always be respected. Otherwise, the listener is cheated, and the writer is not respected... Again, values that may be foreign to some.

I didn't know what the event was. I can see the point also about it being disrespectful.

I absolutely love this. I love how honest she was about having her phone for the lyrics. At least it wasn't Beyonce butchering Bohemian Rhapsody with the lyrics on the stage. It was a spontaneous and beautiful moment. She has an amazing voice. She was channeling Stevie Nicks, paying homage to her and adding her own flair. Well done.
