Something I've noticed about the doors that I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere are the runes above them. These runes can be translated and are all over Milgram if you look. In short, it says "lasciate ogne speranza voi chintrate" above the prisoners' doors, which you may know as the words written above the gates to hell in Dante's Inferno: "abandon all hope, ye who enter here." It's hard to see the runes but is easiest to spot above Shidou's door. It seems to imply the prisoners are all entering their own personal hell in this trial. Feels particularly fitting for Amane...

I think that they're not going into their own personal hell by themselves, but rather waiting for Es, as an angel of death or something, to lead them in. Because if you think about it, if they're going in on their own, the guilty prisoners would have reached their hands out for help to the screen, but they look so scared and seem to try to defend themselves from us. The innocent ones, however, seem content to go in. So I believe Es is there somewhere off-screen, preparing to dive into their 'hell' along with each respective prisoner, with some ready to tag along and some not wanting to even set foot in it.

One thing I've noticed on all these door artworks. The characters who were forgiven in trial 1 are all facing towards their doors, and are either glad or calm. The characters voted guilty are facing towards the camera, and are emotionally distraught. At first I thought it was symbolizing "closing the door to their freedom" and capturing the resulting panic, but I noticed all the doors are open a crack. So the doors could represent the entryway to their fate. The once voted innocent walk towards their fate with content knowing they will live, while the ones voted guilty fear and resent their fate knowing they will die. I know that it's obvious, but I like it.

I think voting Amane guilty last round was the right thing to do for the wrong reasons. She wasn’t remorseful, but she clearly committed her murder under the influence of a cult or manipulator. That’s the most likely scenario, but the truth is we don’t even know really any of the specifics surrounding her murder. I hope this mv can bring us more insight, but atm I’m leaning towards innocent just because children are easily impressionable and cults are cults

@@DlstantEchos I disagree completely, but I do want to make clear I voted to forgive because she was literally brainwashed and tortured (as shown in the first MV) into following their cult’s doctrine to a T, which completely messed up her moral compass. Anyways my take on this trailer is that she’s coming for us for playing judge when we have no authority to. We are literally outsiders looking in, judging and forcing our personal beliefs onto them in a fashion that literally determines their safety when we honestly have no right to do so. We aren’t involved, yet we have been awarded a power that we quite frankly should not be able to wield. This critical thinking on her end completely counters the brainwashing enforced by many cults to keep people in check. She isn’t conforming, she’s confronting the unfair and sickening power dynamic and trying to get us to recognize it too.
