My interpretation of this song is that it's about something like this: Someone has stuff going wrong (Maybe that's what the mushrooms are), they pity themselves and blame another for everything. They lash out at that person to feel better about themselves, then they realize that they were doing that. They were picking on someone else to feel better. They wonder how they came to be that way and felt ashamed. The other must have still cared, since they gently revealed their humiliated face. The first must have felt so bad that they gave into the troubles. They just stopped feeling bad about their self and their life and gave into their troubles (mushrooms).

Considering one “growing mushrooms” is like being super depressed, I feel like I can relate to this a little too much. I was an aspiring pilot and basically shot myself out of the sky with my depression and I’ve completely dropped out of the flight program because my depression was consuming me to the point of literally pulling out my hair behind closed doors and scared of losing my chance if I even went to seek help. I also blamed everything on my relationship at the time and sure he wasn’t helping at all or even trying, but I finally stopped my dream entirely and let myself revert back to a depressed recluse and here we are, fully consumed. :):)

Here's my initial analyzation of the song. The singer here is a dying bird slowly accepting her death and going through the 5 stages of acceptance. At first she's in denial and being angry at some witch who may or may not have killed her. When she sees that it's not doing anything she stops pretending that nothing is wrong. The witch then starts talking to her. This could be seen as bargaining. After that the mushrooms start talking to her. She now feels that she is at an equal level as the mushrooms on the ground. She's depressed. And lastly, she starts ripping out her feathers. She's preparing for death to take her. She's accepted it. Then she becomes one with the mushrooms. She's died.

The Witch is likely the one from Ga1ahad and Scientific Witchery, and seeing as that Witch isn't exactly friendy with the Queen (she's fighting with Ga1ahad, who serves the queen), this bird may have sabotaged the queen's relationship with the witch in order to move up in the hierarchy. Perhaps this queen isn't very honerable either, and the bird said something that got her thrown out, stabbed by her own words, unable to fly as a court member. The mushrooms could represent the common people, or could literally represent death, or could be something the witch did in revenge or pity or even apology.

A small grammar quirk that I noticed on my first listen, but assumed was a grammar mistake at first: "Since when have I Have I became me". After listening to some of Mili's other songs and then this one for 8 times, I realized that this wasn't the case, or at least I hope it isn't because it opens up so many lovely chances of interpretation. "Since when have I...became me" implies one thought from a certain, singular person. Let's call this person A, for simplicity. A is wondering "well, shit, since when did I start acting like this?" This implies multiple things of which I'm not sure of; is A the person moving up in the hierarchy? Or is A the girl who is suffering? I have no idea, I just like grammar. "Have I became me" Perhaps this person is a new entity separate from A? If so, let's call this person B. Is B actually A, but from the future? Or is B a split in A's mind, and this song is a cry of psychosis? But let's focus on the grammar, which is what stuck out to me at first. Why /became/? Shouldn't it be "become" for grammatical correctness? But let's consider what "become" would imply in its stead. "Since when have I Have I become me" implies a similar thought to A's above; basically a "when did I become this way (that I recognize as a constant and steady part of my being and personality)?" With "became", it seems like B is asking "Am I me yet? Have I turned back into the real me yet?" And this whole new perspective in the lyrics is just absolutely fascinating and fantastic to me. Huzzah for grammar, huzzah for Mili and their overflowing intellect and gorgeous music.
