Reminds me of my dad now in heaven even though he wasn't their father in our case he was there for us and many others, our friends adored him he was generous and kind, at his funeral it was standing room only, packed with many young people cousins friends, from numerous states, .he was a veteran of war also. We all miss him. You remind me of him. There should be More like you, Dad, and Mom.

Yes! I always said that me & my family served too. Keeping the home front safe during all the military relocations as we navigated through the years while husband/father served abroad to keep us all safe. The feeling is really beyond words.

Also let’s give props and support to all the military spouses and children who relocate to different states , schools and countries for their sacrifice too. Absolutely right, the travel, different schools, leaving friends and church. Then the severe headaches 😱 of packing, getting to the destination, finding housing, unpacking and FINANCES🤯🤯🤯 the emotional and physical stress.🤪🤪 Many military families don't make it. I wish there was more support. I'd like to base orientation for families informing them of services available and where they can help in emergency situations. Then the service member would have their own orientation. Communication is key, between family and services. Best regards to all military families 🤩😍

These reunions always make me cry, too. My husband and I are both veterans but we were not married until we were both out. We never had to do a remote tour and didn't have children. I was a military kid who became an active duty sailor, married my sailor and then became a mom. I've been on all sides of this journey. It takes special people from the military members their spouse, whether they are active duty or civilian, and those kids. These are American Patriots with capital letters. They also serve who stay behind. They don't come in your duffle bag, but they are all carried in their hearts. Good bless the military members and Good bless the ones who keep them going. @@RaisingNine I know it can be rough. I was also in an interracial relationship. Oddly enough although we’re divorced and my son and daughter are now 40 and 36 we still spend time together as a family a lot. My son is my ex wife’s natural nephew we adopted at 4 tears old. I remember having security called on me at a mall because I was walking holding his hand. They actually asked me who I had a black child. The confusion on their face when he called me daddy was priceless. Just rely on each other and your military family and you will be fine. This country has a long way to go but I have hope!

I just became a big fan!!! My tears are flowing because my husband just retired in 2020 after 37 years in the Army. We have three children in the Navy, and I am a Navy Veteran. I wish he could stay home. We all do. But he has 5 more years of service before he can retire. By then our oldest will be 20 and our youngest will be 10. He's missed so much time with them. I know he loves his country, but as you said they really miss him when he's away. We all do.

What a beautiful family! I grew up military and then joined myself and am so grateful for it. I have been on both sides of this.Thank you for sharing. Growing up, I lived in one big giant blended family that is the military. So we literally all us kids grew up getting disciplined, learning and living all the cultures of our friends and parents friends. Thru the military I have friends and family of every culture from all over this beautiful world. family is who ever you love and are important to you and home is where ever you are together.
