Military mobilization in Russia is failing: military defeats and demoralized personnel

Russian human rights activists say that Russian servicemen and national guardsmen refused to go to the war. After a series of military defeats, the Russian army is demoralized. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian Federation had started a new wave of mobilization to recruit about 60,000 more people to fight in Ukraine.

I agree, but the Ukrainians have also made it clear that the offer doesn't extend to the members of the Russian artillery and rocket forces. They have said due to their actions of shelling civilians, they will not accept their surrender, but will execute them as war criminals. Remember, it is only a war crime if you shoot a prisoner of war. If your enemy is unarmed, waving a white flag and putting their hands in the air (clearly trying to surrender) you can still legally kill them under the rules of war as long as you do not accept their surrender.

If these assertions about Russian Mobilization are true it is becoming less and less likely that Russia will be able to achieve victory. Ukraine might be a smaller country but they are treating this like what it is, a war. They consider it an existential crisis and therefore are fully mobilizing their entire society for warfighting. The longer this continues you will start to see Ukraine actually outnumbering Russian troops on the battlefield.

Russia had both a conscription system and a regular recruitment system. Conscripts serve a one year term of service and then are considered reservists for life. Regular volunteer recruitments seek to fill the 'contract' positions, which vary from 2 to 4 years or more - these are the more professional soldiers, receiving longer term training, and having better equipment and duties. But they are a volunteer position, not compulsory like the conscript service. Last I read, they were having trouble getting people to volunteer and were having to offer large bonuses.
