His crimes were so horrid, that the Canadian military had a ceremony in which they disowned him by burning his uniform and decorations to sever his connection to the Canadian Armed Forces.
@solecaring12308 ай бұрын
How did you know that?
@Mistmantle888 ай бұрын
“In an act freighted with symbolism, the Canadian Forces has burned convicted serial killer Russell Williams' military kit - all his ceremonial and fighting uniforms, as well as shirts, headdress, boots, gloves, rucksacks, and other items of military apparel. The kit was committed to the flames of a roaring furnace at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, which Mr. Williams once commanded, in the early hours of Thursday morning. The bonfire was witnessed by the four military officials who, one day earlier, spent 90 minutes reclaiming the uniforms from the former air force colonel's cottage in Tweed, Ont. The wardrobe, including two boxes of military clothing previously shipped from Mr. Williams' Ottawa home, was loaded into a minivan and driven to the Trenton base, and stored overnight. Canadian Forces spokesperson Cmdr. Hubert Genest said in an interview that the idea to burn the uniforms had emerged "from the bottom up and been endorsed by the chain of command." "We did what we felt was necessary," said Cmdr. Genest. "It feels right." There was no formal ceremony, he said, and no pictures were taken. Mr. Williams, 47, pleaded guilty last month to 82 fetish break-and-enters and thefts, two sexual assaults involving home invasion, and to the rape and murder of his colleague Cpl. Marie-France Comeau, 38, of Brighton, and Jessica Lloyd, 27, of Belleville. Now serving a life sentence in Kingston Penitentiary, he has been stripped of his rank and formally evicted from the military - the first Canadian officer ever to be so disgraced. Military historians called the burning of his kit unprecedented. "I've never heard anything like that," said Jack Granatstein, director general of the Canadian War Museum. "I guess it's embarrassment as much as anything...to erase the shame and stigma" of Mr. Williams' association with the Forces. "It's an exorcism. We are exorcising the memory of Russell Williams." "I have absolutely no idea where that idea might have come from," said Terry Copp, director of the Laurier Centre for Military, Strategic and Disarmament Studies. "It's unprecedented. I know deserters were executed during the First World War, but they'd have been given proper burial." Cmdr. Genest said it is common in the Forces for soldiers to return their military kits at the end of their careers. Typically, uniforms in good condition are recycled, in the interests of cost effectiveness. In this case, he said, " we felt it would be very improper and inappropriate to keep this kit in the supply system," especially since some of it had Mr. Williams' name on it. Cmdr. Genest declined to say whether the Forces was also motivated by a desire to ensure that Williams memorabilia did not fall into the hands of people who might sell it. Various websites appear to conduct a lively commerce in items connected to famous criminals and serial killers, including Adolf Hitler, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Harold Shipman, Charles Manson and John Wayne Gacy. "By making sure the kit was destroyed," he said, "you are ensuring that no one else will ever use it again." Asked what purging the archive of every possible vestige of Mr. Williams' association with the Forces might signify, Cmdr. Genest said, "it's not my role to lend my voice to that discussion. I just know it feels right." Within days, the Forces also intends to confiscate Mr. Williams' military medals (the Canadian Forces Decoration Medal, given for good service, and the South West Asia Service Medal, for having served at least 30 days in Afghanistan), as well as the commission scroll -- signed by the Governor General and the Minister of National Defence -- that confirms his role as a serving officer. Retiring officers usually keep the scroll. Cmdr. Genest said the medals will be kept "in a safe place."” -Globe and Mail, Nov 19, 2010

Holy crap! That was my neuro-surgeon. She did a surgery on my spine more than 10 years ago and I’m now permanently disabled and in constant pain. Have been ever since the surgery. She lied to me about the recovery time of the surgery. She said I would only be in the hospital for two days and after two weeks I’d be able to go back to mostly normal chores around the house, including taking care of my baby. When I was in my hospital room after surgery, I learned from the nurses that I would be there 5-7 days and it would be _months_ before I could pick up a heavy baby. At two weeks post-op I was still using a walker if I needed to go more than about 10 steps. She knew I had a baby because I brought him to every appointment. The second day I had a panic attack because the reality of how unprepared we were for this hit me. Macias was in the hospital at that time and she burst in to my room screaming at me telling me that the surgery wasn’t that bad, and that if I had a history of “mental problems” I should have told her. The fact that I was dealing with postpartum anxiety disorder was on the paperwork I filled out before I saw her, how is it my fault she didn’t read my chart? Anyway, she was literally two inches from my face yelling at me and a couple nurses had to lead her out of the room. She looked like she was going to hit me. Then later, at my 6-week post-op appointment I told her that I was still in a ton of pain every day and I described the type of pain. She just kind of said “hmm, that’s odd”. My husband then stepped out to change the baby’s diaper and almost as soon as he left she turned on me and started yelling at me that I couldn’t come in to her practice and lie. She said that everyone she does this surgery on is pain-free by 6 weeks, so I must be trying to either get drugs or money from her. I wanted neither! I just wanted to be able to take care of my own child! We were living with my in-laws at the time because I couldn’t lift my own baby or get down on the floor to change his diaper. No one was happy with the arrangement. I just wanted to live a normal life. But she yelled at me for it, called me a liar, then stormed out slamming the door behind her. It wasn’t long after that that she moved to a different state to set up a practice there because her reputation was so bad here. In hindsight, I probably should have sued her, but I wasn’t mentally or emotionally in a place where I could think clearly enough to add that to my plate. I just thought I could find a different doctor and they could fix this. But the damage is permanent. I’m going to have difficulty walking and be in constant pain for the rest of my life.

He even killed one woman who lived only a few doors from them. It shows there was a level of arrogance thinking because of who he was he’d never be suspected. 82 break in’s in total. The colonel, working late hours, adopts the technique of a dropout acquaintance, a janitor on night shift that is a petty thief whose shrewd skill at deceit wins his admiration, as a diversion for escape from career pressure. Unlike alcohol it leaves no hangover and does not impair his work. Despite numerous break-ins the petty thief is never caught, as he steals only cash lying around in a household. With nothing else missing suspicion falls on someone in the family and police are not going to devote resources towards investigating a matter that appears to be an insider job. His trickster acquaintance repeatedly sets up the colonel so that his frustration rises to a level beyond his threshold of tolerance into the realm of the irrational triggering action in order to seek relief. The dropout has cultivated in the colonel a peculiar form of escape, which is for him to dress in women’s underclothes. These he acquires by adopting the dropout’s method of operation giving him an adrenaline rush. With nothing missing other than an undergarment he will never be reported or caught by police. When the colonel shows the dropout a photo along with an actual undergarment evidencing each exploit the dropout feigns high esteem for his prowess, conditioning the colonel into escalating to even more daring episodes by positively reinforcing each ludicrous act. The dropout is a narcissistic sociopath that inwardly resents people that have earned responsible positions that he deludes himself is of the level that he should enjoy despite lack of education and effort. In a vindictive process so subtle that it is not apparent that he has deliberately baited his target in order to achieve a fatal outcome the dropout proves to himself that he is smarter than those that despise him. He brought down the colonel.

This Pilot was actually a regular at escort studios in Kingston. About a month or two before this break in happened my friend (who worked with me at an escort studio) told me that someone was in her house, went through hers and her kid’s underwear drawer, left the drawers open, and she was sure there was missing garments. I don’t recall if my friend reported the event. A few months later we heard about this guy. My friend and I were shocked and instantly frightened knowing that he had come so close to her, and possibly others that we worked with (assuming he may have stalked many of us). When this guy’s photo was released we instantly recognized him as a client. The industry isn’t without great risk, but living in a small city generally affords us a false sense of minor safety. There were other similar cases with different men that practically went under radar due to lack of social media at the time (s) and lack of women wanting to report situations in fear of their family learning about certain life choices.

@@Batman-wv5ngyeah it was brilliant. Actually it was a master class and how to run a negotiation or interrogation. Just cuz you don't understand what's going on and think it's boring cuz it is in a car. Chase doesn't mean that's exactly what it is. Brilliant.
