Thanks for the video. The gun shows in my area have been very good in the last year. especially with rifles from neutral nations or in uncommon calibers. German British Soviet and American rifles have been crazy expensive. But Japanese Swiss and Swedish rifles are fair priced. Most rifles we’ve picked up were 400-500. Overall prices have greatly improved from the last two years. And seem to be improving every show.

Good info! I do most of my shopping online now just because rifles I need to fill holes in my collection are very specific. It also helps to be part of a collecting groups that has trades/sell boards. I’m not into Swedish or Swiss rifles but they are incredibly nice.

@@GarandGuy2553 I’ve recently fallen in love with Swedish rifles the quality and condition of most of them is better than anything else in the same price range. We got our ljungman for under the price of a good condition M1 garand. It also helps ammo is under a dollar a round from Sg ammo.

I have been collecting Milsurp rifles since the early 80's. The gun shows I went to back in those days were pretty intimidating what with the huge selection of rifles. But I always made it a point to research the particular firearm I was looking for and I read a lot of books on Milsurps. I would make it a regular practice to check out the LGS and Pawn shops and still do it these days. After 40 years of collecting I still find them so fascinating and so dang fun to shoot. Nice collection and great video.

Exactly, what you see is what you get. I got into the straight pulls a few years back and have bought 8-9 from them so far all at excellent prices. Also they'll hold a gun for 30 days for $100 down, or 1/4 the price I forget. I just picked up what they had labeled as an 1889 but is in fact an 1889/96. Basically a $1,400 rifle for $395, it happens!

There seems to be lots of what can only be described as ‘junk’ from Ethiopia, and other 3rd world countries, sold at crazy prices.
@GarandGuy2553
@GarandGuy2553 11 ай бұрын
Their are a lot of Carcanos coming out of Ethiopia from RTI. I haven’t seen these end up at gun shows yet in large numbers, but some of the RTI ones are making their way to Gunbroker. Their will definitely be people that try to sell these for way more than they’re worth, unfortunately.

Yeah, I still plan on adding to my collection. I hate the trope that once you’re in a relationship, suddenly you have to stop all your hobbies. We both enjoy shooting but she’s not particularly into the historical firearms, ect.

I load my own as I don't feel like paying $2 + a round for steinel and the ppu stuff is mostly undersized for carcano. Found ppu bullets at .267 diameter and they don't keyhole in my rifles. Both have excellent bores but .264 diameter won't stabilize.
