@@KM_1983 I agree. The politicians want the same thing for all of us. It scares me because here in Maryland they pass gun laws based on things that have never happened anywhere in the state. @@duncanmcclellan4086 the piston gas system a different than the traditional DI system, but some ARs also have this. The recoil spring system is different, no buffer tube needed. barrels can be easily swapped in minutes by just loosening a couple screws. I'm a huge fan of Beretta guns but that company can't get out of their own way. The ARX could have easily succeeded if they kept the promise of their conversion kits. They, like remington/bushmaster with the ACR, never followed through with the best part of the rifle. That, and they did 0 research. A couple small edits before going to the US market would have helped a ton. It's a damn shame they never took the updates from the ARX200 and applied them to the 100 for a gen2.

When I originally got my MCX, I didn't like it- but then I began to fall in love with it. Had the option of the Virtus, but I chose the legacy (since I can always partly upgrade) and added the collapsible folder and the Lance carbon fiber handguard- talk about finding the "sweet spot!" I use it in the swamps of Floridastan, and it is a superb "jungle rifle" that can chew/spit out anything that gets caught inside of it and easily shoot sub MOA with good ammo. It's much lighter than the Virtus, which is a perk when you heft it all day. Also, the legacy barrels were super cheap to come by when Virtus came out, so I snagged an extra (as well as a bolt group) for the sake of longevity. I'll never get rid of this thing.

The Galil 329 is one of my favorite AK style rifles. I’ve always wanted that Galil Ace but I’ve never heard of the trigger slap issue. Lastly, you know I love the Bren 2. I have a few of them, all of mine are original 2s and I believe they are the nicest assault style rifles on the market and are very fairly priced for what they are. AWESOME video! I found that I really enjoy some old classics like the French MAS49 converted to 308, picked it up for like $650. Another option these days is an SKS or used AK. There are so many aftermarket parts that can be installed by the end user now days that I think with a bit of frugal thought and patience you can get a really nicely setup AK for the price of a set up AR.

the beretta, very similar to this one, that is standard in the italian military is (in 5.56x45) the Berettta ARX 160, supported by the (7.62x51) Beretta ARX 200. The beretta you're using is the ARX 100, the semi-auto version of the ARX 160 that was intended and produced for the civilian market. Hoped to the see the new israeli standard riffle, the iwi Tavor X95 instead of the weaker export gun, the galil ace, standard issue in colombian mitilary (all branches) and chilean army. AR15's are not "bomb proof". They have a fatal flaugh in the design that makes me no longer trust them. What is it you ask? The gas key and it doesn't matter how well you stake it and there is no thread locker that can withstand the heat. Short of a micro weld, it can come loose and when it does, you will be left with a one shot wonder, until it becomes so loose, all that is left is a club. Just because it hasn't happened to you yet, doesn't mean it won't or can't. Just sayin.....just sayin ( - :

Mathias Sawka A Mil-Spec ar15 made 10 plus years ago can have modern barrels, bolt carriers, stocks, buffer tubes, etc with quick changes . You can even put a gas piston upper on an ar15 witching a minute. MAC,If you have trigger slap on any Galil, the Rifle is over gassed. Usually only Match ammo does this or You are a using higher pressure ammo than the rifle was designed for. A Buffer Technologies Polyurethane Buffer will usually fix this and or a KNS Adjustable Gas Piston System. The Standard 7.62 x 51 Galils especially had this problem when used with Match or Machine Gun ammunition because the Higher pressure ammo would make the bolt carrier hit the rear of the receiver to hard or at all.

In 2018 when I trained with the Italian Marines in Sardinia, they all talked about how much they did not care for the ARX-100. They said it was unreliable. It’s a very light rifle but a little wonky. The trigger, accuracy, quality, reliability, and recoil impulse are absolutely amazing. You won’t be disappointed.

I'd have thought that the astonishing amount of after-market support for the AR would've been enough to overcome whatever minor objections there are for an AR-15. But then again, maybe the people seeking to "buy-an-AR-that-isn't-called-an-AR" aren't opposed to the operating mechanism, but are against the label.... in which case, they may relatively new to guns, and not know about the selection of parts for a typical AR. I hypothesize -- without any proof -- that the people looking to buy a non-AR are trying to avoid future gun bans..... or to simply avoid owning an AR-15 because "they're-evil". Like I said, I have no proof, just a theory.
