Interesting ( and enjoyable ! ). Love that they are exploring more and more "voicings" in their work.

This brought to mind the Ballad of Hollis Brown. Though, after working 16 hours I really didn't focus much on listening. I was just delighted to find a video from MCKs. It's been too long. I completely edited my first comment because it was mean spirited and screwed up. I appreciate not being flamed by those who saw it and we're generous in their comments back to me. Not seeing much by MCKs I've taken to Josh Turner's material. However, his best material are his outstanding covers.

Given that Dylan was a notorious magpie of other people's songs, and 'The Ballad of Hollis Brown' lifted the melody, accompanying chords and verse structure from the English ballad, 'Pretty Polly', I can only assume that you're being ironic here.

@@zzcanasta I think it was mostly sleep deprivation that led to that post. MCK's haven't crossed my radar in years now, and I was astounded by the earlier work from them that I heard, and I suspect I was just somewhat underwhelmed by the first thing I've heard by them in a long while. Really glad they're still at it. I have great respect and appreciation for their musicianship.

@@deanfeldman2505 A generous and fair-minded response. Nice to speak to a grown-up for a change. Hope you catch up on your sleep. 😊

I think he's just getting to the top of his normal range with this song...hitting those top notes can make you sound "raspy"
