Cold brewed Jin Xuan was my summer staple the last two years! Flavored milk oolongs don’t hold a candle to the real deal. Excellent video as always!

Great job as always Alice. I order from you regularly and it’s all because of you and your videos. Brandon, one of your wonderful workers who answers the phone quite often, has helped me sooooooo much more than any other Tea Company employee ever,,, he is fantastic and I wouldn’t purchase as much as I do had it not been for him and his assistance. Please give him a pat on the back for me. Thanks Sincerely, Mark McClain from Kentucky. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Hello. I had my first taste of Milk Oolong today. I absolutely loved it!!! I could not stop thinking about it. However, I got my tea from Tiesta Tea. Can you tell me what the difference is in taste from your company? Will it still have the same smoothness and creaminess? I want the best!

The original milk oolong is a specific cultivar of the tea plant called Jin Xuan or “golden lily” (just as Chardonnay is a grape cultivar used for winemaking). Tea made from the Jin Xuan cultivar has a naturally milky taste. Unfortunately, the majority of modern “Milk Oolongs” are made from lower grade, mass produced teas and then artificially flavored with a milk flavoring chemical in order to achieve a milky taste. The tea you reference is a flavored tea (as noted on the seller’s website) - in other words, its milky taste comes from the flavoring added to the tea leaves, not from the tea itself. At Red Blossom, we specialize in pure teas, meaning we don’t add flavorings to our crops. Instead, our teas get their flavor through careful harvesting and crafting, just like premium wine. Our “Jin Xuan (Milk Oolong)” (available here: redblossomtea.com/products/jin-xuan) is a natural milk oolong. Its milky taste is a natural result of using the Jin Xuan tea plant cultivar - we don’t add anything else to the tea leaves. Because it is not flavored, it will not taste like your current batch, however we believe that unflavored teas are always the better option, both for taste and health benefits.
