yay. found it. lol. i love watching people do this. its what i remember doing. you know exactly what i mean, cause its the bond you have between them and you. all different all different mooods, lol. i know that you have to do it every day of the year , but some people dont like them. im a huge fan of mummies and bubbies. hello alex and evie. you seem to be getting a good return for your milk. lovely to hear that. you deserve it. yes im biased, but its a fact that due to factors that arent to do with farmers, its just too much to put up with. and they are giving up. heartbreaking. lovely setup, im a fan of holsteins and jerseys , brilliant winners at the bucks show. i love watching the judging and the young handlers. and just walking through the show cattle getting close to them. so well cared for . spoiled rotten. actually had a blind cow once. my poor lovely girl. but we always got her in and out with a bit of talking to her. when she calved, she somehow knew that her calf was there. i got emotional with her. but , cows and calfs are pretty, clever, and do like being spoiled. yours are lovely, you love em. thanks for another lovely epidsode of the daily, dairy smiley. including alex. thanks girls. night night to you both. get well soon evie. keep smiley and happy. i know the weather is crap, maybe march might be drier. udder mint, i remember that, smells lovely. doesnt it. night night girls. and the mummies.

Interesting video. Good work, you seem to have a nice operation going. It is all about getting a good procedure going that works well and saves work. This can easily become almost degrading work otherwise, considering the intensity. When I was young my grandfather and uncle ran a milkfarm in Northern Sweden, with up to 100 cows. It was profitable but very hard work. The farm was old at the end and they had to kneel when attaching the milking machines. Consequently my grandfather had to replace at least one kneecap. I helped them feeding the cows sometimes, which included scooping out partly frozen ensilage in -20 or -25 degrees Celcius. Work that build character when you are 12 years old!

i was looking for a friday smiley episode. but you didnt do one. cause you have loads on your plate. no problem. i can never work out how you manage to do it all, anyway. its a evie mystery. lol. ssshhh. have a lovely weekend, hopefully youre not flooded yet. ireland and scotland have had snow already. all i get in south england is rain. boo. crops have had it , plus crappy clay soil down here. soon be summer, then too hot and drought again. its not the weather we used to get. alex will now be peppermint alex after the parlour episode. sssshhhh. lol. see you all soon. try this one. in the morning , its morning evie. but in the evening, it becomes evening eveie. nearly the same. aint that strange. bet you love that yorkshire show. sounds brill. i will have to wait till the bucks show, to see the best holstiens, jerseys, herefords, etc. i watch them all day. because of my thing about the animals. old habits never lost. what am i like.

Yes, the ladies are beautiful. The cows are also gorgeous in their own ways. Holsteins, guernseys, jerseys and more... I live in a rural area of W. PA, USA with several dairy farms. The farms are very large, owned and operated by great folks but if one ever visited any of them, I would almost guarantee that you would never return or at least, not often. The reason for this is that they are extremely odoriferous, ie, they stink to high heaven! Cleanliness is at its best under the circumstances, but everything stinks badly and then when one leaves the farm, the stink has ingrained itself into every part of one's body, hair and clothing. When one is inside the milking stations or parler, as clean as the try to keep this, with all the water being used especially in spray form, the humidity is very high which, once again, only compounds the stink/stench of the dairying process. The cows stink, too, no matter how clean one tries to keep or make them. Driving home with the windows down helps, but only minimally. The only solution for this is to immediately remove one's clothing and shower once home. Laundering the clothing helps, too. Now, I am not criticizing the farmers, except that truth is truth. When I do visit, I switch my vehicle's air on to inside recycle keeping the smells outside, until I open a door to exit. Then, when I return, depending upon what I was doing there, once back in my vehicle brings the smell problem inside. When I get an adequate distance from the cattle area, the windows come down and the air circulation returns to outside air. OK, don't get mad at me for painting a realistic picture of this side of dairy farming. We love our dairy neighbors, but there are downsides to this industry. Towards the end of their video, the folks are spraying down the milking 'parlor' and then the walkway. The tractor is pulling out the cow manure/shit and urine. Then, the man is squeeging the floor. One has no idea of the stink! The ammonia level is high. All this atomized stuff is being brought into their lungs, being absorbed into their pores and all their clothes. Ammonia is very toxic and tends to liquefy one's lungs and is flammable if concentrated high enough. OK...enough...but I know what i am talking of.
