Great advice, especially for those who are easy going about destinations, or are hitting retirement. I could see myself vastly increasing roadtrip destinations later in life, but wouldn't want to buy a bunch of new contracts to make it happen.

That is exactly my life right now. I save probably $5-10k in maintenance fees each year. I won’t always be living full time in timeshares and I wouldn’t want that constant payment each year.

@@timesharetraveler I'm probably going to pull the trigger on our 3rd Wyndham contract tomorrow. I just eyeballing RCI in case we have leftover points. It looks like Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan have wide availability in the Pacific. We can go to Fiji, New Zealand, and the Philippines with shorter notice. Puerto Vallarta is wide open, though I haven't looked below Mexico yet. I'm thinking that we can build any potential leftovers over 3 years, combine them with current, and really have an occasional exotic trip within the exchange. No cruise travel that year, and we'll save enough to cover 4 year's of MF from the new contract.

@@thejokerspeaks you get RCI access with resale?. Good to know. I converted all my resale to developer credits so technically I don’t have any resale.
@thejokerspeaks3 ай бұрын
@@timesharetraveler I have access. According to the head of TUG, inventory is dependent on the value of your ownership with both RCI and II. Las Vegas and Orlando contracts don't hold as much weight, which limits your resort options. I guess Kona and Sedona aren't bad.

@@timesharetraveler How much was it to convert your resale into developer credits? I didn't think Wyndham did that, or maybe it is just for WM.

I just bought an annual Club Wyndham week at Bali Hai for $1,850, lots of Ebay sniping the last 10 min. I wanted as cheap of MF as possible. $938 per year. Let the adventures continue!

Good insight again! We are starting to get the "RCI itch". Do many reps that do owners uodates with HGVC, do they shy away from RCI transfers? We want to expand our travels but are hesitate due to our knowledge of RCI.

I would experiment with a week of last call first on RCI. Just because it can be $50/night. Check for reviews on trip advisor before booking. Start slow and see what works.

@@timesharetraveler ok....we'll have to poke around about the last call option. We do like to plan in advance...and maybe we'll be spontaneous.
