For me Philip represents my depression that tries to haunt me back every time I try to get better, Then Clemens is my ideal self who is fighting out the depression and at the end of the video, I finally got over being depressed.. Today my best friend passed away. I’ve been living in America for the past 6 years, I saw him only twice since I moved here. Brother was 28, cancer got him and destroyed his liver and kidneys. While all of this was happening, I have been “busy” with life, partying, moved to Denver, working, saving up money, etc. Got a new number, tried to reach out to him to tell him the “good news” never got a reply. A week later, I am at work, had just received some news that another friend had killed himself, the night before, he was 23. I was in shock, few hours later, I received some news that my best friend have been in emergency care for the past 3 weeks, breathing trough a machine, sedated and unconscious. A week later (today), he died at 28. I didn’t get to say goodbye, until I saw this video and saw myself and him on this music video. This video brought out what I couldn’t say in words what I am feeling right now. Thank you Milky Chance, your music speak to my soul. ❤

Some technical, catchy electric guitar licks, with the acoustic / bass guitar keeping the beat perfectly - and sometimes you don't know how many notes to create something beautiful. You did it. The incomparable vocal with a hoarse timbre distinguishes Milky Chance in the world of music. The text is also beautiful, melancholic, about the fragile human nature and its need for another person / relationship. Philipp is the sad, fustrated and angry side of Clemens, they are the same but Philipp is always struggling and screaming of pain incide. But when Clemens meets him they both keep calm, thats what happens in the chorus and what Philipp needs to do is blossom out and let his pain go. In the end Philipp ( the dark side) disappears.... Clemens is free from is pain
