Making miss my trip there a few years ago. I was fortunate enough to get dropped off at the top by my dad twice. That section where you can't see any dirt, just rocks, is a blast. Stay loose on the bars and get ready to react quick to avoid the big ones. Can't wait to go back.
@mtbingadventures15512 жыл бұрын
I love the rocky sections. Very cool of your dad to be your shuttle driver for the day. That would be sweet to do two runs down Mills Peak.

Awesome ride, I love Mills Peak. Definitely better the way you guys did it. I rode up from the bottom last time, and it was painful!
@mtbingadventures15512 жыл бұрын
That's indeed the painful way to do it. I did from the bottom once and it's a pretty good amount of elevation gain.

@mtbingadventures15512 жыл бұрын
I agree. It is really great to ride with other KZbinrs and get them on video doing cool lines, crazy stuff, or crashing. Also does help put in perspective everyone's ride abilities or how challenging a line can be.
@bikeninja9562 жыл бұрын
@@mtbingadventures1551 4 shur, it adds to the dynamic also, more personalities and things going on, makes it more interesting and fun... that last section through the pines was the best part of this vlog for me... everyone was in their flow...so fun.

Maybe it's because I'm a relative n00b and on a HT, but I do not care for chunky, rocky stuff like that. As I was thinking it must be more tolerable on a FS, you lamented that your arms were gettin tired. Enjoyed the vid bubba!
@mtbingadventures15512 жыл бұрын
Rock and chunky sections are my favorite. It does get a bit exhausting at times but we'll worth it. I have been doing a ton of building and not much riding so easy for me to tire quickly. A hard tail makes chunky sections way more exhausting

Was up at Mount Hough last weekend, when they opened it. Was thinking of going over and hitting Mills Peak but didn’t have anyone to shuttle with. It’s done for the year with this storm I would assume.

Fun watching you trying to catch the group, every time you separated. Was rooting for you ;-)
@mtbingadventures15512 жыл бұрын
Thanks, pretty fast group. I lose ground on corners and I think I drop one to many gears. Right after a tech section I try to pedal I have no pedal under me and corners just scare me.
@JakeMorrison2 жыл бұрын
@@mtbingadventures1551 Im the same with my cornering. I also build and try to balance riding. Made me think while watching. For myself, I can see losing skill riding, if I build too much in the future. Really appreciate your videos. Watch them all. Keep the stoke high!

Woe, that was a long descent. Can you shuttle to the top?

Yes, it can be self shuttled and I do believe they run shuttles services to the top when the season is good and demand is there

@ 15:03 Advice for anyone looking to get their wife/girlfriend/significant other who doesn't have an interest in MTBing out on the trails with you: Buy them a good FULL SUSPENSION rig and set it up for COMFORT (low tire pressure, BIG Soft cushy seat, low pressures in the shock and forks). Make that thing Squishy! Take them on some flat flat flat gravel road rides. Let them set the pace and length. This won't be about YOU having a good time. Just relax and enjoy being out on a bike with THEM. After a number of these type of rides bump it up and mix in some paved paths with hills. Let them figure out the shifting thing somewhere they feel safe doing so. After maybe 3 or so months of this, find the absolute most boring flat, wide, no elevation dirt trail you can and see if you can coax them onto that. DON'T push them. If they aren't down, go back a step and be patient. Find and start watching videos of the EASIEST trails on KZbin with them. I used Bentonville since it's a weekend trip away from us, but green trails at bike parks helped too. I has to be relatable to their skill level. It also helps if the video features little kids riding the trail! Once you get them confident on a flat wide "trail" with no elevation, take them to the easiest DH flow trail you can find. NOTHING INTIMIDATING! No Jumps or Tight Steep Switchbacks. AGAIN, Don't Push Them. If they aren't down, go back a step and be patient. If you can get them to the bottom of an easy green Flow Trail with a big grin on their face, you'll have them hooked. My GF went from no interest and barely able to ride a bike (she couldn't stand up while riding) to now popping a tiny bit of air off table tops and wanting to spend thousands of $$$ on a new full sus e-bike so she can get more laps in Bentonville!
