Well done for reaching over 10k I was the same as you when I did my front end, I literally forgot to cover the windscreen in my hast to get it done one evening but unlike you I ruined mine which was a shame on a 1973 all matching numbers. Keep up the great work you are doing I love watching 😀

Keith, nothing wrong with that main cable, if your that unsure of it, just get some normal 2mm wire, twist 4 of them together and Bob's your Auntie 😂 On a serious note, that cable is really really bad. No wonder it was up for sale, was probably cutting out every 100 yards.

I love to know what brand of underseal that was. Looks like cracking stuff.
@jaggass2 жыл бұрын
The underseal did a good job of protecting the inner wings. Will you be fitting an electric fan as well?

No, it's not really needed on a standard 998.

Good content, I’m not so much a mini enthusiast although I can’t say I wouldn’t like one, I just like watching the welding and fabrication it’s nice to see an old car brought back to life. I’m doing some welding on the sills of my golf at the moment, with some seriously crap panels that I’ve spent most of the day trying to reshape to fit properly lol..

Congratulations on surpassing the 10,000th subscriber!! Well deserved! Awesome video again Keith!! Amazed how well protected those inner arches were after all these years! Since we're up to date with Project Bruce, we are now catching up on P111OOW's playlist! What a car! My Dad is dead curious to see you working on the rear of Project Bruce since we are going to be tackling ours in the near future! And also have two door skins to repair... 😩 Also going to need to get a reaming tool for the radius arms... struggling. Gonna be uploading a little Sunday Drive video on my channel later today of our "After Eight" Mini, if you fancy a gander of the portuguese countryside! I suggest having a cup of tea and a chocolate mint 😉 whilst watching because I am a bit of sunday driver ahaha 😜😂 Wishing you all the best! José and Tony Windle

Good to see you struck (mostly) lucky with those inner wings. That underseal was some good stuff! If you are using the Italian pattern panel you will want to go round and file off the sharp stamping edges. Ask me how I know .. 🙄 And congrats on the 10.1K subs mate ... fully deserved. I wonder if anyone else spotted the new Putrid Yellow on the engine block at the intro that wasn't there later?..... Your attention to detail again!

Hiya Keith-hope your OK. Great stuff, 10K subscribers-well done. (the new CMW sweatshirt is ordered!) Brilliant video. You don't do things by half mate. Battery cable was dangerous too. That little car is going to look amazing soon. Keep the videos coming, they are great viewing.

Congrats on the 10k subs. Last week (1/7/22) I finally got my Mini. They're pretty rare here in my area and very expensive. I now have a 71 S. Black with a Norwegian flag on the roof. Apparently the former owner was a fishing boat Capitan on the show Deadliest Catch. The car had been restored some years ago and now I'm finishing up the details. Have most all the parts on order to rebuild the front and rear suspension, doing door locks, upgrading a few bits. I've already made seat brackets and repaired the drivers dodgy seat springs. I have a considerable list of little things to improve or repair. I've gained a huge amount of information from your channel and KZbin in general. I'm a motorcycle enthusiast and do all my own work, including metal fab. I'm currently taking care of some of the work that can be done without parts. I only have one short video showing how much space I have to work. I had 5 bikes in the garage at the time. I had to put one inside the dinning room to get me a little more room. Now 4 outside and 5 inside. Just want to get the little bugger sorted out so I can enjoy it this summer without too many issues. 👍😁

Wow, cool. I wonder if it was Sig Hansen?
@franktaylor76172 жыл бұрын
@@classicminiworkshop I can't remember the name. I did recognize it but it has slipped my mind. It wasn't Sig, I would have remembered that. I'm supposed to get the history of the car but you know how that goes. This was the equivalent of a Mary Kay car in the UK. We have ladies selling cosmetics in the US in Pink Cadillacs called Mary Kay cars. It still has the striped interior as part of the kit for identifying the company car. My British friend remembers those cars. All new to me. I'll make a video before I get too deep into the repairs/changes. 👍 I'm not really a KZbinr. Just documenting my progress. Usually I forget to cover the progress.

Do u need the closing pannel guy doing my mini didn’t put as said it would be a water trap but he sealed around it well with welds and seam seal
@classicminiworkshop2 жыл бұрын
It does protect the scuttle somewhat, however if its all been protected and waxed it would probably be just as effective without the closing panel

Keith, thanks again for all the uploads. Absolute wealth of information! Can I ask when you predict this will be finished by and what your plan is once its done? Would you take on another budget restoration, provided this one goes to plan and sells successfully?

Hi James, I'm aiming to have this one finished around mid-March. It will be going to a subscriber at cost price (Parts/Consumables). I will then start looking for the next project.
